I felt a hand on my back. That’s when I went rigid and started to panic. I turned over in my bed and say a person.
“Who…who are you?!” I half shrieked out.
“I’m your roommate.” He said like that explained everything.
“Oh okay.” I said and turned away ready to continue crying but then I remembered I didn’t have one. I turned around again looking at him again. “I don’t have a roommate.” I said squinting at him trying to compel my vision to clear up.
“You do now. The dean said you didn’t have a roommate and that you would be happy to have me.” He said and then pondered a thought. “Should I even ask what happened or…”He trailed off.
I wiped my eyes wincing from the pain. “Uh just some old classmates from high school.” I said touching my eyebrow and wincing again.
“Rightt…” He said skeptically. “Do you have ice or something in here?” He asked.
I nodded and pointed to the small fridge and freezer in the corner. He walked over there and grabbed the frozen peas. I grabbed them barely being able to hold them and placed them on my face and laid down. When I say laid them on my face I mean literally on my face like eyes, nose and mouth. Everything was pulsing in pain.
“So what actually happened?” He asked sitting down on his bed across from me.
“Uh well in high school I wasn’t very popular and they were the reason behind it. And someone from here told them that they had seen me so they told them about it and they decided to come say hello.” I said sighing.
Does life ever get easier? Probably not.
“Well I don’t know where you come from but I don’t say hello to people I knew by punching them in the face.” He said laying down on his bed.
“Yeah..” I scoffed agreeing with him. I decided it would probably be best to go to sleep so he wouldn’t ask anymore questions. It take much to just pass out because I was already feeling pretty dead from the beating.
