Axle went to his classes like normal, his teachers nodded to him as he walked in as a signal they got the code. Axle could feel some looks from his peers seeing as he shared classes with some of them. After his classes Axle found Nick and they snuck out the back to go see Nick's police friend. They got on the bus and listened to music but Nick spoke up,
"It takes a while to get to her place."
Axle nodded and took out his binder, he worked on his homework until he felt something lean against him. Axle looked up and saw Nick was asleep and was leaning against him, Axle chuckled softly and continued his work. Nick stirred after a little bit, but Axle stayed focused on his homework, Nick mumbled in a groggy voice,
"Thanks for letting me use you as a pillow."
Axle snickered,
"No prob, now tell me, did we miss the stop?"
Nick looked outside the window and shook his head,
"About three more, then we'll be good."
Axle nodded and packed up his now finished homework. He was trying to shove his binder back in his bag, but his efforts were unsuccessful due to the fact he couldn't use his injured arm very well. Nicks hands came into view and held his backpack open for Axle to slide his binder in. Axle smiled at Nick once he put his backpack in his lap,
"Thanks."
Nick nodded and ruffled Axle's hair, making Axle giggle and swat at Nick's hand until he stopped. Axle ran his finger's through his hair to try to tame his hair as he playfully glared at Nick. The driver announced a stop and Nick stood up,
"This is us bud."
Axle nodded and got up swinging his bag over his shoulder,
"Let's go before I chicken out."
Nick laughed and they walked off the bus. Nick led the way until they approached a grey house hallway through the neighborhood. Nick knocked on the door three times and we waited until it swung open. A really scary looking lady with brown hair was glaring at us, Nick smiled,
"Hi is Sarah here?"
The woman yelled over her shoulder,
"YO SARAH YOUR BRAT IS HERE AND HE BROUGHT A SIDEKICK."
A woman with short black hair, who Axle assumed to be Sarah, came around the corner and instantly ran over to Nick,
"Oh Nick, how have you been? You haven't called in the past two days... I was afraid you had gone to see your parents and it didn't turn ou-"
Nick cut her off with a bunch of
"Stop talking! Stop talking! Stop talking! Stop talking!"
Sarah made an 'oh' shape with her mouth, as Axle glared suspiciously at Nick
"Well anyway... come inside."
Axle walked behind Nick as they made their way to the living room where Axle sat next to Nick on the couch. Sarah sat down in front of both of them,
"So,"
She began slowly,
"You've never brought someone here before... does this mean... YOU TWO ARE DATING!?"
Axle felt his face heat up and started shaking his head vigorously while Nick stuttered that they weren't. Sarah laughed,
"Okay, okay. Well if he's not your boyfriend that must mean you need this old woman's help, correct?"
Nick nodded and handed Sarah his phone with the video on screen and Axle found himself zoning out while staring at his hands. Axle's gaze snapped up when Sarah's hand enclosed his, she looked kindly at Axle. Axle smiled as he felt nostalgia wash over him at the motherly gesture,
"You're really nice."
Sarah giggled and squeezed his hand gently,
"Don't worry you won't have to go to your family, you'll stay with Nick and we'll handle the situation. I'll ask do you have any more information that can prove they've hurt you."
"My back."
Axle blurted and immediately regretted it. Sarah shared a glance with Nick who shrugged, and then turned back to Axle,
"You don't have to but may I see?"
