He had enjoyed ten years of being totally irresponsible, but the day his fathers pulled him out of school instantly ruining all his hopes. Hokori had hoped he could be a hero, and leave his fathers and past behind him. His father had pulled him out of school that day to take him on a mission, Hokori’s first since he was about four, and his power was still developing. Hokori has the ability to have anything he touches either disintegrate or burst into flames, most considered it best suited for a villain, funny, considering who his parents are. Someone slapped the back of his head, causing him to spin around to slap them. Hokori was glad to see his friend, Kiroshi, grinning like an idiot behind him. “Hey, you seemed pretty upset yesterday after you got called out, did somthin’ happen?” Hokori rolled his eyes at how oblivious his friend was, Hokori was always upset when he got called out of class, but Kiroshi decided to notice yesterday. “Nah, nothin’ happened just tired, as always.” Kiroshi sighed, and Hokori knew from the look on Hokori's face that he was about to give his ‘sleep speech’ before Hokori cut him off. “You need sleep blah blah pass out during something important blah blah you could get hurt. Yeah, I know, you've said this a million times.” Kiroshi pouted, “Yeah but still, Sleep!” Grinning, Hokori blurted “I’ll sleep when I’m-” Kiroshi cut him off. “If you say dead Hokori, I swear to gods…” The school bell rang, signalling that they were both late. The two yelped at the same time, “Ah! They’re gonna kill me!” both knowing the other was talking about their fathers.
That day after school Kiroshi didn't see Hokori outside, and guessed that he was pulled out while he was in another room. As Kiroshi walked home he saw a figure being pulled through an alley, dismissing it as a petty gang fight. A few minutes later he saw a building not too far from him, go up in flames. An abandoned warehouse, why would someone burn that down in the middle of the day? His muttering thoughts were cut off by him seeing a group of- villains (?) run out. A pair of heroes followed them out, Charge bolt and Uravity. Most of the first group got away, leaving the last few to be easily hauled away. One person had come out after the heroes were out, blending in perfectly with everyone else. Almost inaudibly, he muttered. “Kinda stinks that he wasn't caught.”
The next day Kiroshi saw Hokori entering their class, and ran up to him. “Hey dude! Did you see that villain attack yesterday? Wasn't really that interesting though, mosta the villains got warped away or sumtin’, it was a quick battle really.” Hokori was looking at him happy to share something he knew. “Yeah! Did you hear what the main-man looked like? The news report showed he wore a black shirt n’ pants… kinda normal if you ask me. But what was really strange was that he was covered in all these hands… like, a bunch of weird, dead blue hands, wrapped around his limbs. So weird!” The teacher at the front of the room coughed a little to catch their attention as school started.
Hokori and Kiroshi were walking randomly through town, both having left a bit too early for the Yueii entrance exams, until they actually got there. The trickle of students seemed normal, had there not been kids with tails, horns and just floating clothes. They sat next to each other during the introduction, but did not end up with each other in the practical, makes sense. After the exams were over they were sent home with the knowledge that they would receive the results in the next few weeks. As Hokori and Kiroshi were heading back home Hokori was having an inner panic, what if the school didn’t let him in because of who his parents were, after all, they were the cause of the USJ Incident and the Training Camp Incident. Both were high class villains, Dabi and Shigaraki.
Over the next few days the same question ran through Hokori’s head, ‘What happens when they find out?’ He had finally gotten up enough courage to go tell Nezu about his… situation.
Hokori sat in front of Yueii’s Head, Principal Nezu, Ready to explain his problem. The Principal looked at him before giving him a go-ahead.
“Er, so, principal Nezu, I came to talk about my… Family. My fathers are Shigaraki and Dabi, both wanted villains, but I didn’t know up until a few months ago. If you need any info-” He was cut off by the small animal interrupting him.
“Hokori, correct? I won't use your last name as it makes you uncomfortable, but, why are you telling me this, and before the exam results go out too?”
“I was afraid that the school would find out on their own and not allow me in, if I passed, that is, so I decided to come clean on my own.”
A month later Hokori stands outside the 1-A dorms, his friend Kiroshi was still there. The two headed up to their dorms, next to each other. The Nameplates read something new from years before, Midoriya Izuku changed to Bakugou-Kirishima Kiroshi. The Bakushima smiled, he got the top hero’s old dorm! He saw that next to him his friend was crying, not from the room, but the name. ‘Jiyū Hokori’ the school had changed his name, like he asked, he was now, finally, free from his past.
