“Listen Seth, I have no idea what you’ve been through, but I’m here and I’ll protect you.” I said and sat next to him. He moved away a little bit and it felt like a needle was stabbing my heart.
“Why? I’m a horrible person and an embarrassment to everyone.” He said to me tears in his eyes. God his pain was breaking my heart.
“I didn’t want to tell you this until we got a little closer, but it might kind of put your mind at ease.” I took a deep breath and let it out slowly before I looked at him staring into eyes and said, “I’m Gay.” and held my breath. I had no idea how he would react.
“You’re what?” He said looking into my eyes.
“I said I’m gay and there’s nothing wrong with it.” I said leaning forward. I went to touch his face but hesitated until he leaned into my hand.
“Is there really nothing wrong with it?” He asked skeptically.
“No there isn’t. People just don’t know how to silently judge us.” I said. I couldn’t even imagine what he had to have been through for him to be like this around people
“So it’s okay that I like men and that I’m only attracted to men?” He said looking adorable. His voice was still shaking and he clutched my jacket around him.
“Yes its perfectly fine.” I looked away for a second trying to figure out how to word my next question. “Um…Seth can I…can I kiss you?” I asked unsure what his answer would be.
