Jonas
Face flushed Jonas glared at Liam, quickly turning in favor of trying to hide himself by sinking lower in his seat. Snorting Liam kind of leaned over, eyes darting between Jonas and the road, trying to see what he was doing. It only made Jonas sink lower as he prayed silently to himself that Liam would just forget he existed. So maybe he hadn't completely squashed whatever feelings he had upon first meeting the man.
"I'm not cute," Jonas groaned.
"Why do you say that like it's a bad thing?" Liam raised a brow at him, pulling over. Jonas was ready to argue when Liam cut the engine. "Is that the place right there?"
They parked across the street from the cozy little cafe. Its name, Flower City, was painted across the large main window in white and yellow in a nice cursive font. Jonas could see Sky's coworkers moving about inside though there were hardly any customers for them to tend to. There were hardly any good parking spots so Jonas understood why. He was starting to understand the reasoning behind the Cafe's name though as he took in all of hanging flower pots outside.
"Thanks for the ride," Jonas said, his annoyance from earlier fading. Then he saw Liam opening his car door. "What are you doing?"
"I'm going in with you, what else?" Liam raised a brow and looked at Jonas as if it should have been obvious what he was doing. "I'm hungry and we're already here."
For some reason Jonas couldn't help wanting to argue against it but it's not like Liam would listen. He was a grown man, he could do what he wanted, Jonas was just hoping it didn't include following him inside.
Sighing Jonas just got out of the car and headed across the street with Liam trailing behind him with his hands awkwardly shoved into his pockets, jogging a little to keep up. When they reached the sidewalk Liam yanked his hands from his pockets and rushed forward to open the door. "After you."
"You just don't know when to quit do you," Jonas quipped, rolling his eyes and stifling a laugh.
As soon they walked in a young woman approached them with a small notepad and a bright white smile that contrasted well against her skin. She was dressed in the same yellow uniforms as the others though with a skirt. Her name tag read Dominique. Her natural hair was up in a poof, the back of which she absentmindedly fluffed before saying, "Hello, welcome to Flower City, how may I help you two young men this afternoon?"
"Um... well since we're here," Jonas started, turning to give Liam a pointed look, "Maybe you could show us to a table miss."
"Right this way."
The woman was rather kind and her smile seemed genuine. If all the people here were this kind Jonas would have to stop Sky and ask him why he never thought to bring him here. He and Liam just went for a small treat and a drink. Coffee for Jonas and tea for Liam.
"Oh and I was wondering if anyone by the name of Schuyler happens to be in still," Jonas said, having been a little hesitant. He wasn't sure how to ask without making himself look weird, but instead the woman's eyes lit up and she gave a vigorous nod.
"Yes! He's in the back helping clean trays, I could go get him for you," the woman said, looking oddly eager.
"Uh, you don't have to. If he's busy I can wait..." Jonas started trailing off as the woman turned on her easel and headed through two doors into what had to be the kitchen.
"Well," Liam said, looking to Jonas, "when he gets here you can ask for a discount."
Giving Liam a blank look Jonas slumped down in his seat. Trying to distract himself he pulled out his phone, scrolling through an online novel. Then he saw him, standing at the doors leading into the kitchen turning to look over his shoulder at something someone was saying. Jonas couldn't hear but he noticed the way Sky blushed before snapping his head around and letting the doors swing closed. Then he turned towards the dining area.
Holding a tray and still wearing a blush Sky made his way over to their table. He glanced over his shoulder a few times, likely trying to make sure his friends weren't watching. He let out a sigh before turning a smile to both Jonas and Liam, though he was obviously biased as he turned back to Jonas to give him an even bigger smile.
"Here you are," Sky said, setting the tray down, still holding Jonas' gaze and saying with a hint of disbelief, "I didn't expect you to actually come."
"Well I said I would," Jonas said, looking down to the tray, two muffins sat on separate saucers, one blueberry. Grabbing his muffin Jonas took a bite, "And I see we're the only one's here."
"Yeah."
"That means you get to leave early right?"
"I still have to finish cleaning. That's still gonna take like half an hour."
"I can wait. It's not gonna kill me, besides Liam here," Jonas stopped shoot the blonde a glare, "Can keep me company."
Liam was in the middle of eating his muffin, brows raising as he heard his name being said. When Jonas looked to Sky he saw his brow furrow the slightest bit and tried not to laugh. He'd had that same look on his face the night they went out to eat too it's just that Jonas didn't think much of it, he was simply happy to be out with him. Seeing it now he supressed the urge to tease him.
"Maybe I could get Dominique to let me go but we're already packing up early-"
"I told you I'd wait. Liam and I will be fine," Jonas said, waving him away.
"Yeah, Liam doesn't mind," Liam said, why he was speaking in third person Jonas didn't know but the man was siding with him so he went with it. "But Liam does mind or needs to know is where the bathroom is. I haven't gone to the bathroom in five hours."
Blinking Sky took a step back. Pointing to the far end of the dining area towards a small hallway Sky said, "They're just back there. The men's room is to the right."
Muttering his thanks Liam got up and rushed towards the bathroom. Once Liam was gone Sky crouched down next to his seat. Jonas was about to say something, this was obviously some kind of joke, but then Sky gave a sheepish smile and said, "I wanted to ask if I could kiss you but I wasn't sure if you'd say yes with your friend sitting there."
"I mean... The worst he could do is tease me for it..." Jonas mumbled, casting his gaze down to his lap, he couldn't meet Sky's eye.
"Well I didn't know that, I don't wanna impose or out you in front of anyone." Leaning forward Sky cocked his head to the side, "Does that goofy little lip bite mean yes?"
Jonas felt his face heat up. Inhaling he nodded his head. He wasn't expecting the small peck to the corner of his mouth and when he opened his eyes Sky was still there, lingering. "I could have sworn you asked me for a kiss."
"And I could have sworn you were the one who wanted to take things slow."
"Don't patronize me," Jonas deadpanned, turning around in his seat to caress Sky's cheek. Then his anxiety got the better of him and he quickly put his head down on the table, putting his face in his arms.
"You know if you're gonna try and be a flirt you might wanna-"
"Shut up!" Jonas groaned.
"I don't mind though. I mean you were right, I mean we don't really no each other all that well... but I want to- to get to know you I mean," Sky said grinning, reaching up to rub the back of his neck. "It sounds stupid but I guess I just realized that I don't really know much about you and yet I basically told you my entire life story when we first met so... Hell I don't even know your favorite color, what song you hate with a passion but listen to anyway, if you're a dog or cat person- please say dog person."
Jonas snorted at that earning a a cute little half smile from Sky.
"But you know what I'm getting at. I... I really enjoyed the other night..."
Jonas sat nodding his head, though if he were being honest he didn't understand this whole thing either, he was just going in just as blind as Sky. Then he reached up to hook a strand of his curls behind one ear, "I... I did too."
Sky was about to say something when he suddenly got to his feet, a customer service smile claiming his features as Liam came strolling out of the bathroom.
"You're serious right now?" Jonas raised a brow at him, lips curving up on one side.
"What are you talking about?" Sky frowned.
"You know you could at least try harder at pretending you don't not like him," Jonas said, looking up in time for Liam to come stand at his side.
Phone out Liam tapped away at his screen. He spoke slowly, clearly thinking about whatever he was looking at. "Hey, Jonas it looks like I'm about to be heading out soon. If you need a ride or anything I can call a friend to help you out-"
"I told you I can just get a cab," Jonas groaned.
"Aw, just look at that wittle pouty face," Liam cooed, smirking down at the young man. "Alright then, be careful," Then he shot a glance in Sky's direction, "and stay out of trouble."
"What are you even talking about?"
"You know exactly what I'm talking about." Pushing his hair back Liam gave him a knowing look, turning to Sky before his way to the exit, "And it was nice seeing you again, I didn't catch you name."
"Uh, it's Schuyler," Sky said, giving an awkward little wave.
"Well it was nice meeting you, I guess I'll see you tomorrow Jonas."
Sky watched out the window as Liam left. It was a split second decision for Jonas to reach out and take Sky's hand. Pulling Sky towards him, teeth sinking into his bottom lip, Jonas sat up. Looking a little confused Sky frowned before Jonas' nose brushed against his, smiling he put a hand between Jonas' legs to ground himself, palm down on the yellow leather of the seat. Jonas was still holding onto Sky's wrist when he closed the distance.
A soft sigh escaped him just before they pulled apart and Jonas had to recollect himself. With a small smile gracing his lips Jonas said, "Yellow."
"What?" Sky raised a brow, nose still touching his.
"Yellow. My favorite color is yellow."
