Jonas
"I forgot from our first meet but... you don't drive," Liam said with a snap of his fingers, looking at Jonas with raised brows. The two of them were headed away from the library and making their way across campus, Jonas staring at his phone debating whether to text Sky or not and Liam spinning his car keys around his index finger. Giving a devious smile and a wink he said, "I could give you a ride if want."
Jonas didn't notice the wink but he noticed Liam's tone and quickly snapped his head up to the suggestive smile he was wearing.
"No it's fine, I could get a cab," he said, not wanting to impose and clearly confused. Liam was just joking, much like he had when they first met.
"Aw come on, it's the least I could do after keeping you for so long," Liam said, still spinning his keys on his finger, catching them in his hand before the ring could slip.
Frowning Jonas cast his gaze towards the ground. He didn't want to impose but as long as Liam was offering... Letting out a sigh Jonas shrugged, "Alright, fine."
"Okay. I have GPS installed in my system, just tell me the address and I'll get you there."
Jonas nodded. Liam's car ended up being a nice red convertible with nice black leather seats on the inside. The top was already down so instead of opening the car door he hopped inside. Jonas wasn't impressed though, but a little concerned.
"You just leave your top down like this? This is one of the better parts of town but you still have to be a little careful," Jonas said, waiting for Liam to unlock the doors before climbing in. Once he slammed the door shut he turned to see Liam smiling at him.
"You worry too much, it's fine. I was just in hurry this morning- running late and all- and I forgot to let it down," Liam explained, starting the car up.
"Well just be careful."
"I will, don't worry about me." Liam grinned, making a show of checking himself out as he adjusted the rear view mirror. "Where to?"
"Just a little cafe called Flower City Café," Jonas said, watching Liam as he leaned towards the GPS above the radio to type in the address. Jonas frowned a little, shifting in his seat, hesitating to put his seat belt. "You know you don't have to do this. I could just catch a cab, I have the mon-"
"I already said I'd do it- oh and I was wondering if you be willing help me study next time. I've never really been all that good with numbers," Liam chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck as he avoided Jonas' gaze just a little.
"And science is all about numbers. Well you were doing pretty good, you just get your formulas mixed up a lot." Jonas gave a soft smile.
Nodding Liam turned half way around as he put the car in reverse, biting his bottom lip as he concentrated. "Yeah, there are too many of those damn things. How do you know all of this anyway?"
"I'm just really good with numbers, and I took a two cp classes in high school," Jonas said, a little nonchalant until he saw the look on Liam's face. It wasn't impressed per se but he was wearing an intrigued half smile of sorts.
"Just two? You're pretty damn sharp, why didn't you take more?"
Turning his head away Jonas tried to feign the same sense of nonchalance he had earlier with a shrug. "Uh, my family moved around a lot and with the differences in curriculum I fell behind in some courses."
Please don't pry. He didn't feel like answering any questions, especially right now. Jonas was starting to get a little tense and it was becoming harder and harder to hide. Liam nodded his head.
"I see. That's too bad, I had that happen to me one time too many growing up. My mom kept getting all these job offers and the rest of us would follow wherever she went. Both my parents actually moved out of Rock Fort what, last year I think. My sister left with them so I'm here by myself," Liam said, finally pulling out of the parking lot.
"You have a sister?" Jonas asked, glad to find a nice change of subject.
"Oh yeah, right. Nobody here really knows her, she was always quiet and I don't hang with any of the guys I used to know in high school. But yeah, she's my twin actually, looks just like me, but you know, with boobs," Liam quipped. "It's a good thing none of my friends really know her personally though. Do you know how awkward it is having people tell you, 'dude your sister is hot, no homo' every five seconds. Like dude was that really necessary."
"I don't have any siblings so I wouldn't know."
"Well I wish I was in your position. I mean having a sibling wouldn't have been so bad if not for the twin factor. You have to buy two kids sports equipment, two sets of wardrobes, shoes, cars, college, all that at the same time. And I was a spoiled little shit too so when I got my first car at sixteen I was pretty stoked, then I found out me and my sister had to share and went through the roof. I didn't come out of my room for three days except to eat and piss, I didn't come out for shit else. Ended up getting my first job that summer too, mom told me if I wanted my own car that bad I could pay for the damn thing myself."
"I'd have told you the same thing," Jonas stated, giving Liam a look.
"You can't take her side!" Liam pouted before chuckling to himself. "I know I deserved it. But like, I'm a teenage boy, or was. Of course I flipped out after finding out I had to share a car with my sister. Sisters are always cock blocking and Leah was no exception. It didn't help that I may or may not have had a thing for a couple of her friends."
Jonas raised a brow at that.
"It was only three of them. There was Amaya Strom, nice girl too. I feel bad talking about her but like, I dunno we didn't really click I and you can guess how things turned out between her and Leah the day after we broke up. Then there was Carson. We lasted pretty long though, we only broke up cause we moved and she didn't wanna try long distance which I was more than willing to do too. Broke my heart she did," Liam said, growing a little quiet after that as he pulled up to a red light.
"And the third?" Why did Jonas ask that? Freaking idiot. He was hoping Liam wouldn't pry for details about him and here he was asking unnecessary questions but Liam didn't seem bothered by it, shrugging at him as he made a turn.
"Nobody special, we didn't really last all that long. She was actually a girl from my first semester engineering course. She ended up staying in touch with my sis and still is. You can imagine how awkward that is for me though- look at that, we're pretty close to your destination, why'd you wanna go there anyway?"
Blushing a little Jonas sunk down in his seat. "I'm just going to see a friend. I don't know why when they don't get off work for a while, which is kind of why I stayed behind to help you. Not that I wouldn't have anyway, but it's nearly six and they get off pretty late. He did say he gets off a bit early depending on the work load. It's a small family business so they're a bit... loose with their hours."
"Oh, well then why are you going so early? Is it their break or something? What? Are you going to see that guy you were with the other night?" Liam lit up when Jonas gaped at him, face turning a deep red. He looked like a curly haired tomato. "You are aren't you! What, he's like your boyfriend or something?"
Jonas searched his features for any sign of disgust but all he found was reassurance in Liam's devilish smirk. Well maybe not reassurance seeing as he could already sense the onslaught of teasing before Liam could even open his mouth. Only it didn't come as Jonas said, "No, he's just a friend."
"He better be. You're our group's resident smol bean that must be protected." Liam said, brown eyes holding Jonas'. He looked at him for a moment before a car behind them honked. Liam muttered a curse under his breath before making a turn, smiling at the road ahead.
"Who said that about me? Was it Jill and Anazia?" Jonas whined, scowling at Liam when he refused to say. Smacking his shoulder Jonas continued to whine. "No, you're not just gonna pretend you didn't hear me. Who said that about me?"
"What, it's not like it isn't true."
"Dude." Jonas turned halfway on his seat, surprise turning to feigned disdain.
"Well it is. I mean look at you, you're just too cute."
