Theo’s hands began to glow. One hand red and the other blue. Then, the red hand spurted out lava and the left hand followed gushing out ice. His left foot blew a gust of wind and his right foot sparked lightning. Both kids were terrified for a few moments until Theo managed to stop using his abilities.
“You must have like elemental powers Theo.” Kate said.
Theo’s scared expression turned into a big grin. “Oh yeah! I’ve got the best powers ever!”
Theo began trying to shoot icicles and rocks as well as water streams and lightning bolts.
“Whoa! Yeah! This is the best!” Theo yelled.
*Thud*
In all of Theo’s wild shenanigans, one of his rocks had flung into Kate’s head. A few hours later, Theo entered the hospital and sat beside Kate who had a cold pack on her head and was asleep. She had a while to wake up but was going to be alright. Theo managed to disguise his mishap with his powers as playing a game but he felt the weight of responsibility of being a hero even more now. A while later, Kate slowly woke up and was relieved that no one else was hurt.
“How’s your head?” Theo said softly.
“A little heavy but that’s all. You know I had the weirdest dream.” Kate continued. “It was about this little elf who was the last of his kind and went on an adventure to find his lost family.”
Theo asked “Um, ok. How did they get separated?”
Kate said, “I think it was because of a war that took place for a thousand years ago against things called Minotaurs.”
Theo now intrigued asked, “Is there anything else?"
“That’s all I remember sorry.” Kate uttered.
After a few days, Kate had an idea and thought back to when she was in the hospital. She concentrated hard and finally, something popped out of thin air.
Kate called Theo and frantically said “ Theo! Remember the story I told you about the elf? Well, I made it real with my powers!”
“On my way!” He said.
Theo arrived at her house and ran up the stairs. He knocked on the door and when Kate said he could come in, he slowly took steps until he was fully inside.
Kate said with a very soft voice “Here he is.”
If there was no floor, Theo’s jaw would have dropped for as long as it possibly could.
“He’s so cool! Ooh, I have an idea.” Theo said as he began to make a little dirt home with his power of Earth and made sure it stayed in place by sticking it together with the power of water.
The little elf jumped up and down and gave Theo’s hand a little hug. He ran into his new home and started to make some renovations.
“Aww, he's so cute!” Kate said.
Just then the phone rang and the little elf jumped because it startled him.
“Theo please answer the phone for me while I comfort the elf OK?” Kate said.
Theo nodded and answered the phone.
“Hey Kate the thing you asked for is ready now.” Slinky said on the other end.
Theo responded, “Uh this is Theo actually.”
Slinky said “Ah, Theo. This actually is for you as well. Come on down to the cave with Kate and I’ll show you something amazing that will help you more easily fight crime."
