A black sun is in the sky would give anyone unease knowing it is a sign of an omen. An omen of the end of the world as they gypsies say. Laia looks at the Black Sun as dark fire flows onto the buildings, different people are screaming for their lives as everything burns around them. The fire didn't stop at the buildings, everyone is scorched as they tried to run.
But the fire never touched Laia.
It avoided touching her for reasons she can never explain, when she looked at the black sun it gave her comfort that it was there.
No matter the destruction it causes, it never hurt Laia.
Laia wasn't scared, the heat didn't bother her or the screams. She sees a person inside the Black Sun that reach towards her with her hand, A woman from what she can tell. When the woman reaches out to Laia a pleasant heat spreads through her body.
Laia wants to be closer to this woman.
The other woman smiles softly as Laia eases closer to her.
When they make contact only darkness remains.
Laia groans she slowly wakes up staring at her brown ceiling, while sitting up in her bed she yawns and looks around. Her small room is dark since the curtains are closed. She gets out of the her bed at a snails pace and opens the curtains.
She looks out at the yellow sun with a grimace.
“I had that dream again…”
Flashes of people dying while she stands there and watches sends a shiver down her spine. She shakes her head trying erase the memory.
She huffs walks away from her window to fix her bed.
After that’s done she looks toward her armor in thought.
“I wonder what it’s trying to tell me, A black sun scorching the world. It’s so weird.”
She rubs her right hand through her red hair in frustration, The dream is getting on her nerves.
“Oh well, No point in getting anxious about this. I’ve to get ready, The Fetchers won’t wait for me forever!
As she says this a large gold eagle appears on her right shoulder and speaks in a light voice.
“Laia, It’s not healthy to suppress things.”
Her companion puffs out her feathers as she looks at Laia.
Laia pouts at her companion.
“I know, Azia, but this confuses me to no end, why a black sun? I’ve never seen the sun get covered in darkness before. I wish I had more information…
Laia frowns and rubs the left side of her neck irritated.
“Don’t stress too much, I can feel your emotions going haywire and it’s giving me a headache.”
Laia rolls her eyes as just gathers her combat gear.
“I didn’t know you could get a headache and you just said I shouldn’t suppress things.”
Azia shifts on Laia’s shoulder amused.
“I actually do I can feel your strong emotions, which is a good thing since our link is strong. You can just talk to me, so you can get your express what you are feeling.”
Laia smiles once she puts her gear on a long table on the opposite side of the room, Then she sighs in frustration leaning back while looking at the ceiling.
“Well I’ve been having this dream every night ever since you became my Emotia. Where I see the world being burned down by a black sun people dying everywhere. The weird thing is that it never hurts me and for some reason there is a woman that is at the center of the sun.”
She pauses in thought.
“It’s weird feeling comfortable in her presence even though every thing was burning to the ground.”
She shifts her focus to Azia.
“What do you think is it an omen? I usually shrug off dreams but this one has been a constant thing.”
Azia tilts her head in confusion, while closing her eyes trying to think of anything that could helpful.
“A black sun… I can’t think of anything that would be connected. Sorry I can’t be much help.”
Laia smiles and pets Azia with her left hand to comfort her friend.
“It’s ok, we will figure this out together.”
A knock on the door stops her.
“Ureaio, are you ready to go?”
Azia disappears into golden mist and Laia turns towards the door yelling.
“One Second I’m not ready yet, Give me a few minutes!
She quickly takes a shower and puts on a black skin tight clothing and gets her armor pieces from the table. Her armour is sliver and red armor and covers all her vital areas. Once she puts it on she looks at her self in a full length mirror making sure she got every thing on.
“Alright I’m ready!”
Laia opens the door and is greeted by her friend Jarime who was also in armor his was silver and blue he was taller than her and had brown short hair.
Jarime smirks at her and begins to speak.
“I see you take just as long as Oru to get ready.”
Laia rolls her eyes and walks past him.
“I didn't take that long besides armor takes awhile to put on you should know that.
“Yet I’m ready before you and Oru.”
“Hmph whatever.”
They both walk out of the building with the streets white colored buildings passing by crowds of people are starting their day. Some Merchants are trying to sell to people that pass by. Guards are making sure no one commits any crimes. Some civilians greet Laia and Jarime as they walk to their destination.
Once they cross the Selion street which is less crowded Laia and Jarime finally make it to the head quarters.
The Headquarters is small building it has two guards in front of it Paro and Mezuma both nod and moves aside so they can go through.
Once they are inside there are four people that sat around the large table. The Leader Hao had pure black armor on and was the tallest of the group nods acknowledging them.
Laia and Jarime take the empty seats next Faita and Keele.
“Good everyone is here I will begin to explain our next mission..”
Hao spreads out a map on the table so everyone can see he points at a spot on the map.
“We have a new assignment the client paid us a lot of money to kill a powerful beast that has been attacking humans from the New World and dragging them to the Old World, We need to be careful since it will be unfamiliar territory.”
Laia frowns and tilts her head in confusion.
“I’ve never been to the Old world... What is the monster type?”
“The client said it is a Smoke Type it invades the homes of humans and takes them to the Old World to most likely devour them.
Keele is speaks up next he around the same age as Hao and wears Red armor his bald head shines in the sun light.
“Don’t we have to be more prepared since the Old world has a lot of unknowns? There could be other Classes of Monsters helping the Smoke Type.
Hao nods his head.
“That’s why we have to make the appropriate gear and to kill them.”
Laia had heard stories of the dangers of the old world with the Clans and creatures that are always at war with each other and the Clans will attack anyone that enter their territories if you are not apart of their group you are as good as dead.
The Man with blond hair that sat across the room slumped in the chair looks bored at the conversation. He was listening for awhile and decides to speak up.
Rey cackles.
“Hehe! If the monsters get too rowdy I will be able to use my great blade!”
Rey shows off his sheathed weapon.
“Besides it’s not like anything strong is there it will be really fun!”
A girl with white hair and a full silver armor sighs.
“Rey you are so loud, I just want this meeting to be over with so I can go back to playing with my dolls.
Rey glares at Faita.
“Che, It seems the brat talks after all.”
Laia rolls her eyes.
“Not everyone gloats as much as you, Rey.”
The blond grinds his teeth.
“What the hell did you say?”
“Enough!”
It seems that Hao is tired of their banter.
Hao lifts up a stack of paperwork a reads it.
“From the mission briefing the beast are about B rank in terms of danger so it shouldn't be that bad. If something bad happens we can retreat.”
Hao then begins to explain the strategy to deal with the beast and everyone listens intently.
