Sorry this update is coming up later than usual but I have been panicking since, like, 2:00 in the morning which is making me feel like sand.
Anyway I didn't read Bill Bryson's A Walk in the Woods, but I read enough of Bill Bryson's A Walk in the Woods to know that your chances of escaping a bear are a crap shoot. Sometimes you can run and that works. Sometimes you can stay still and that works. Sometimes you can climb a tree and that works. Sometimes you can do any of those things and then bear eats you. So anyway the moral of the story is: I don't know how to get away from a bear, don't take this as advice.
yeah DO NOT DO THIS. Running from a bear will make them chase you. The thing to remember with bears is “BROWN: GET DOWN. BLACK: ATTACK. WHITE: GOODNIGHT” brown bears and grizzly bears are aggressive, go into the fetal position. Black bears are more cautious, make yourself big and act aggressive and they will back off. Polar bears will just fuck you up if you’re close to a polar bear you’re probably already dead.
Okay. So. This project is *kind of* a crazy undertaking on all accounts. To start...
You know how they have weird made-up holidays? Like "Talk Like a Pirate Day" or "National Ice Cream Sandwich Day" or whatever? I look up those weird holidays ALL THE TIME doing social media for work and there are SOME weird holidays that are just...extra made up.
Like. There is a "Geek Pride Day" (May 25th) and there is a "National Take a Hike Day" (June 1st) and THEN there is a "National Hike with a Geek Day" (June 20th) which just seems EXTRA made up.
SO my friend and I were talking about this extra made-up holiday and laughing about different concepts about it and then not that long ago (like...maybe a week ago?) I decided to make a short little webcomic about some of the stuff we were joking about.
SO. BASED ON THE EXTRA MADE UP "NATIONAL HIKE WITH A GEEK DAY" WEIRD HOLIDAY...
Old school friends Samson and Hank enter a 36-hour "Take a Hike with a Geek" contest.
This webcomic will update EVERY DAY in June and then it will conclude.
