Oliver's POV
We chatted as we walked to school. It wasn’t easy to talk to Lily because she was fine with anything. She’s could talk about the most uncomfortable thing to talk about like it was nothing. Trust me. We happened to pass by a park with a small playground and there were many planted trees all along our way to school. Once we arrived at the school Lily texted Eric to ask where he was. He almost instantly replied saying he was at the entrance doors. We passed many groups of people on our way. I heard people murmuring under their breath and staring at us as we walked. I don’t like attention whatsoever, so I leaned towards Lily,
“Hey, is it just me or are people looking at us?”
Lily laughed, “It’s just you weirdo.”
I breathed a sigh of relief and thought thank god. We found Eric standing near the doors looking at his phone. He looked up and glanced around and spotted us. We ran up to Eric and did our “trademark moves”. Lily winked and did finger guns, one pointing at me and the other at Eric. Then Eric ruffled both of our hair and I wrapped my arms around both of their shoulders. We laughed and talked about our summer for a little. I suddenly felt a hand on my shoulder and turned to see who it was. I was suddenly facing a super tall, mean looking dude. He had black hair and blue eyes. He glared at me so a smiled and waved,
“Hi, my name’s Oliver, nice to meet you.”
I stuck out my hand offering a handshake. The guy snarled at me and my friends,
“I don’t associate with a guy like you,” and he slapped my hand away. By now people were starting to look at us. So, it’s time to make an enemy I said to myself. I glared at him fiercely,
“Look bro you’re the one who came over here and put your hand on my shoulder. So, sounds like you’re already associating with me. And what do you mean associate with guys like me?”
Apparently, no one had ever stood up to this guy cause a couple oohs were heard.
“I mean gay guys.”
So obviously I stuck my tongue out at him. Ya know, to be mature. That guy must have a weird temper because he did not like that, he got mad, tried to swing a punch at my friends and me. I pulled Eric and Lily out of the way and he stumbled forward. I heard a group of people laughing so I glared at them. They stopped laughing and the man literally growled. Just then the bell rang, and I pulled my friends into the school building. I heard the dude screaming,
“YOU'LL REGRET THAT. THIS ISN'T OVER”
I laughed and my friends and I made our way to the first class we had. On the way there, Lily tried to scold me,
“Look just because you know some moves now doesn't mean you should go looking for fights.”
Eric nodded agreeing with Lily.
“Look I’m not looking for a fight, plus no one here knows I can fight which means if I’m fighting it’ll only be one person to fight.”
Lily rolled her eyes and Eric laughed patting me on the shoulder. They didn’t like it when I got into fights but realized I could take care of myself. Plus, the fights in middle school just consisted of a couple of punches and you’re done. We made it to our classes and split up we had a couple of classes together. Soon enough my first day of high school was over. Lily rides the bus to her job at a veterinary hospital on Monday and Fridays. And on Wednesday and Thursday, she helps Eric study, so she goes home with him. My week continued normally until Friday. I started my walk home when I heard a group of footsteps following me.
