Victor Arlington was a scary looking man. He was almost two meters tall, broad-shouldered, muscular and covered in scars. His black hair was shoulder length and beard neatly trimmed. His eyes were mix of brown and yellow and looked like those of an animal He also had sharp, long canine teeth. He’d make even the toughest criminal quake in their boots, at least a little bit, if they met him in a dark alley.
But despite his threatening looks, he loved his children with his whole heart. They meant the world to him and he was ready to do anything to protect them. He had two sons and a daughter who he especially loved. She was his little princess who deserved the world. His sons were very dear to him too of course, and he loved playing ball with them or carrying them on his shoulders.
He loved his children dearly, and it pained him to be away from them, but he had duties and it was far too early to explain to the kids where he went sometimes for weeks. They were too young to learn that monsters were not only creatures in books but that they were real, and that they even lived in the same house.
What a terrible night it was, when he lost control and destroyed everything he held so dear. His wife and daughter were gone, slain by his own hand. And his sons, scarred for life, physically and likely mentally too. They had learnt about the monsters, way too soon and in the worst way possible. The only thing he could now do was to help them and be there for them since they now were monsters too because of him. As a father he had sworn to protect his children from anything and everything but in the end, he had been the biggest threat of all.
