Why did the president mentioning killing piss me off so much? Because my parents, my sister, my friends, and everyone else I knew were killed by him. And I was about to get a new friend, Suri, but then he just had to pull me off the bus. For once, I was relieved to be with other people, to fit in, and to just do something that everyone else did.
Living on the streets since the age of seven did toughen me up, but it also lead to depression. There was a period of time when I became so depressed I would sit in an alley and sit there for days at a time, not eating or sleeping.
And the president's voice was just plain annoying. He had a surprisingly high pitched voice, but with voice cracks and a sticky resonance. Disgusting.
I sat there on the floor, crying my eyes out until I had no more tears. Then, I went back to the room that looked like a waiting room to wait for landing. Unfortunately, the president still wanted to talk to me so he came into the room. He sat himself down across from me and said in his annoying voice, "Ama, I know you've got some mental problems, but you've got to put youself together! You can't go and throw your tempertanterums out in public! You've got to learn and controll your feelings! Is it that hard to do?"
I glared at him and didn't say a thing.
"Be thankful that i pulled you off the bus. The test is nothing easy. After all, it was designed to kill slowly and painfully! And also, I wanted you to come off the bus because I wanted to torture someone like you. You're tough which means you have a high tolorance point and also, you're already suffering mental issues which will make torturing you much more fun!"
I sat there and continued to glare at him. It was getting hard to not kill him now.
"And not to mention," the president continued, "If you survive the torturing, we can always shut you in a room with nothing but sulfurous gas!"
"All I want to do is take the test and be like everyone else!" I said.
"Oh how cute!" the president exlaimed. "You wanna fit in! How about this: You take the test, then we'll torture you! How about that?"
"Good," I said. "That's just what I want!"
"Okay then! I'll have the plane take a different route and we'll get you to the test in no time!"
