"Zen! Wake up!"
Groaning out in tiredness I turned over and snuggled into the blanket, finding bliss in the warmth it provided me.
"Lucaon Zen you better get up! You have to leave in forty-five minutes!"
'Jeez women, stop screaming right at the crack of dawn' I thought to myself as I unwillingly got up and walked to the bathroom, a chill happily making it's way down my spine as the cold air circled around me.
Sadly enough, today was Monday. Meaning two things; one being a school day, and two being the most dreaded day of the week.
But I didn't have the right to complain as much this time since it was our first day after break; it still sucked though.
Heaving out a tired sigh I trudged to the bathroom to wash up. After brushing my teeth and washing my face I grabbed my glasses and planned to head downstairs.
That's right. "Planned". But my so called "plans" were quick to change as soon as I heard my parents arguing again. This happened on numerous occasions so I wasn't too surprised, sure a bit irritated at the fact that their loud annoying voices were echoing throughout the house six am in the morning. But I shrugged it off and decided to change my clothes instead. (Opting for a white hoodie and black skinny jeans.)
Finally getting done with changing, I threw my hair up in a half up half down bun and put in my contacts hoping I didn't waste too much time. I had to leave soon and I was stuck with walking so I couldn't spend too much time getting ready.
After checking that I had gotten everything done — I grabbed my bag and headed out the front door.
My stomach slightly grumbling since I didn't eat anything. But it was better to leave with an empty stomach than to deal with the endless ranting from my mom.
I started making my way to my school. Looking down I let my mind wander off, the light wind brushing against me as I walked down the drenched sidewalks. The weather was awfully gloomy, water dripping from the trees, sky gray and bland with fog hiding the beauty of the world. But it was to be expected from the heavy rain that showered from the dark skies last night.
As I was close to reaching the school my phone dinged, taking it out of my pocket I opened it only to find out that it was my older sister.
She was telling me to eat when when I got time. Which left me very confused as to why she knew that I hadn't eaten. So I asked her, but the only thing I got as a response was, "I have my ways". Creeped out I left it at that and continued my route.
A few minutes later I had reached my school, it was pretty new but like any other high school; it was hell. Troublesome teens running around the school causing mischief along with teachers giving you assignments upon assignments to complete in such little time. And if you got a strict teacher then it was game over for you, because they had such little temper and were so hard to please. It drove me insane.
But luckily I had my sister to help me out when things got rough.
"Yo Zen! Did Mrs. Yoon give us homework for yesterday? Please tell me she didn't" Ryu shouted in my ear as he clutched my shirt, somewhat wrinkling it.
His name was actually Nagito Ryu, but we called each other by our last names. It was a habit we picked up on since young and it kind of stuck with us since then.
"Hmm? Yeah, she did actually. The questions were brutal" I responded casually, fully well knowing that he didn't do his homework, so I took it in my hands to rub salt in his wounds like the good friend I am.
"What!? Really?! Oh god. Zen. Plan my funeral 'cause i'm gonna die by the hands of her," He dramatically exclaimed, "i'm too young to die, too." he exaggeratedly mumbled in the end.
"Oh shut up. You're not gonna die, you'll only end up with a detention and extra homework for the rest of semester. Nothing too bad." I smirked teasingly as he hit me and continued blabbering on about his funeral.
At times it felt like he was the younger one in our friendship, he always was more hyper and bubbly — unlike me who was the complete opposite. I tended to seclude myself from the crowd and keep quiet. Till this day I wonder how our friendship lasted for so long.
"Wait, Ryu, did you get my message from yesterday?" I finally brought up the subject the had been bugging me for a while. It was weird since he'd always been the kind of person to reply fast. But this time he took longer than expected.
"What're you talking about? I didn't get any notifs from you?" He questioned back as he pulled out his phone and flipped it around. Indeed, there were no notifications that were from me. Which was pretty weird since I was hundred percent sure the message was delivered.
"That's weird? I thought I DM'd you on insta?" I also pulled out my phone as well and opened instagram. I was horribly confused at the moment, but what turned the situation even weirder was the notification I had received from the account I DM'd yesterday.
"Wait? So you're saying you didn't receive anything from me? At all?" My head snapped up and quickly I questioned, a worried tone laced with my voice.
"Yeah?"
"Wait a second. What's your username?" Things were starting to make sense, the moment I had searched up the usernames — only two popped up that were very similar. And me being me, I guessed who it could be.
"It's Nagi_yu, why?"
"Oh shiz."
Low and behold I had DM'd the completely wrong person. And now here I am clutching my face in my hand as the anxiety and embarrassment seeped through my system.

This didn't really meet my standards but I didn't want to prolong the time so I hurriedly finished it up.
Apologies if it didn't turn out good.
