It started out as an average enough day, well average for me anyway.
Wake up due to the annoying blaring of six alarms, wake up, and lay in bed for half an hour, and then sit up for another half hour.
It was Sunday, I was allowed to sleep in late.
Finally getting up I went to the bathroom and stared at my reflection for ten minutes. Leaving the bathroom, I looked around, and realized today was Mom's birthday. It didn't matter though. It's not like she'd accept anything my hands ever touched. (or anything I ever gave her) It still hurt though. It's been over a year and it still hurt.
Sighing I went over to the window and looked at the brewing storm clouds.
I jumped as thunder illuminated the dark gray sky, threatening to rain even harder. Trees were jerking harshly side to side as the wind rushed down on them, branches tearing off and hitting the poor unsuspecting drivers who had the luck of being trapped in the storm. Angry clouds swarmed in, blocking the once blue sky.
Deciding to get ahead on my homework I walked over to the lonely table that always waited for me. Stacked on it was all of my school books, a lamp, a laptop, and my trusty tablet. I knew I should do my Math first, seeing how that was my worst subject, but instead, my hand retreated to my tablet.
Pressing the home button, the familiar home screen appeared on the screen. Smiling to myself, I pressed the Instagram app. I never had a phone, so I always ended up looking at it on here.

Curious, I went over to the bell and saw that a lot of his pictures had been liked. When I first created this account I had never meant to make it public. I was about to change it when I started getting comments about his work.
HOW DID YOU GET SO GOOD!?
Very nice. May I ask what art supplies you use?
You make me want to burn my drawings. .///.
"Sorry it's so bad" It's the complete opposite of bad! Like- these drawings are amazing!
I'd admit the compliments made me feel nice and warm inside. It made me feel happy. Happy that someone liked my stuff.
Noticing the red two in the corner, I realized it meant that someone had PM'd me.
Tapping the inbox I saw an unfamiliar username
yu_the_view
You never told me you were so good at art?? What the heck?!
Legit it looks really good!
I almost typed out, "Do I know you?" but refrained against it, maybe I should check his page?
Clicking on the public account I saw hundreds of photographs, each one telling its own unique story. Taken in the most unique position that brought out the true beauty of the scene; A simple flower blowing in the wind was its own masterpiece. One picture however stuck out to me, it was an image of a bridge in the night sky. Different colored lights decorated the sides of the bridge, casting a breathtakingly beautiful luminescence over the water. It looked almost fake by how tinted it looked, but the small waves the were caught mid flow told the viewer that it was in fact real. I dunno know???
(add more descriptions)
But alas, no matter how beautiful their work might be, I didn't know who they actually were, so I decided not to follow them back.

Thank you so much!

Just because I didn't know who he was, and was a little suspicious; didn't mean I couldn't accept the compliment.
Looking outside I realized that a few hours had passed. I should probably eat.
Stretching for a minute, I got up and walked over to the small kitchenette and pulled out some potatoes. You couldn't go wrong with potatoes, right?
Dicing the vegetable into small cubes, I poured some oil into the pan and threw them in.
Watching the cubes sizzle made me smile as I pulled out some spices and threw (yeeted) them into the pan, watching them melt into the soft squares.
The warm, spicy smell of the dish wafted through the small apartment increasing my appetite. Sitting down at the table for two I sat down and faced the empty chair and began eating.
