It began as a light trickle, small droplets of water gracefully falling down from the white and fluffy looking clouds. But the weather was quick to take a turn, the velocity of water quickened, the light droplets turning into chaotic pellets, painting the ground to a darker shade.
The thunder roared out as the sky changed color, the once gorgeous blue skies were now a threatening shade of gray. A strike of lightning soon accompanied the roar, a beautifully white strike of electricity adorning the gray sky.
A sigh escaped my lips as I sat there gazing at the sky, finding comfort in listening to the pitter of rain as it battered against my window, leaving a tattoo like residue.
I didn't know how long I had been sitting there looking at the scene unfold, but I knew it had been quite some time since it was now half past seven.
I had homework to do, a ton of it actually. But instead of getting up and doing it, I chose to pick up my phone and scroll through Instagram.
A few minutes of mindlessly scrolling passed when I suddenly remember that my friend — his name being Nagito — asked if I could check out his account, which I of course replied with 'yes' since I knew he was really good at painting, art in general too, but mostly painting.
Quickly I typed in his name and waited for results to pop up. A few usernames came up, two of which being quite similar, so I randomly tapped on one hoping that it would be his.
The profile that opened up was beyond my expectations.
The pictures were all art, they were all gorgeous.
They looked as if they were brought out of a museum judging by how outstandingly detailed and nicely blended they were.
Each one of them were different, each having their own special aura to them. Some were intricate and precisely detailed, and others were just simple and bold. But it didn't matter if it was simple or bold, because their appearance was outstanding. It didn't matter how detailed or effortless they were, because all of them were uniquely magnificent.
You could see the skill painted on the paper, in a way, it was radiating off of it. You could tell how hard working the person was, how much time they put into their work, and how that hard work and dedication paid off just by glancing at a few of the pictures.
I sat there, mouth agape, eyes bulging out of my sockets, absolutely stunned by the beauty I was seeing.
I never knew someone could be so talented, let alone be so good at what they do.
A new sense of respect formed for my friend, my heart swelled with pride as I was finally able to acknowledge how good my friend was at art.
With a small smile plastered on my face, I followed him. Messaging him right after.
