So, yeah, Dewi does the one thing Blake said not to do no matter what. To calm Luce down, he looks him right in the eyes. It's a risk he has to take to get Luce to trust him. Dewi just hopes whatever his power is doesn't turn out to be too dangerous.
Lucius does calm down after that. Dewi is looking over the information on his newest potential client, Royal Crows, when Luce speaks up. "Dewi?"
These brothers…. Dewi has revealed his powers twice today and all because of his twin roommates. "I guess there's no use hiding it now. You really should have called us as soon as that girl came into your sight. I thought Blake was going to kill someone when he told you to hand over your phone. Don't worry, I made sure he was calmed down before leaving." He glances down at the folder in his hands and gets a idea. "Hey, since you already know, could you give me some advice? The meeting we're heading to is with a company interested in hiring me as a model for their clothing brand and if it goes well, there might be a long-term contract available. I was familiar with the brand so I thought this appearance would give them a good impression, but after looking at an overview of the entire brand, I'm not so sure. It seems they perfectly straddle the line between goth and Disney prince. So I was thinking…." Dewi closes his eyes and focuses on his new image idea. It looks similar to 'Cronos' other than much longer hair that's up in a high ponytail and bright red highlights instead of purple. The old appearance fades into the new one before Luce's eyes. "... something like this. What do you think?" The inspiration is obvious, especially to Luce. How couldn't he recognize his own brother's features?
"It is quite handsome… Any particular reason for going with this specific appearance?"
"Well, after reading the concept, it… just, reminded me of him." Luce raises an eyebrow.
"The details are amazingly accurate." There's an obvious unspoken understanding behind his words. Dewi blushes, not wanting to let this older brother know that the attention to detail might not be limited to what is currently visible. "The original owner of this face could easily be mistaken for you. It might be better to decrease the resemblance to avoid that." So they spend the next few minutes making small changes for that purpose, Luce pointing out suggestions and Dewi implementing them. There's only one feature he is unwilling to change, but Lucius never mentions it, as if he knows Dewi is set on keeping them in their current form. The final product is a attractive combination of 'Cronos' and the form Dewi uses at home.
Still, Luce looks like he has one final suggestion to make but doesn't know if he should voice it. "What is it?"
"Well, you said the brand has a dark prince vibe….. and we both know who you're really trying to impress…" Darn, he'd definitely been caught. "So… what's your stance on… unnatural features? Like… pointed ears?"
"Pointed ears?"
"Yeah, what's more dark royal than shadow elven? You already look like one minus the ears." His voice gets lower. "Plus, he doesn't talk about it much, but a certain stress ball is fascinated by those ancient cultures where myth and reality have been so blended by history that one can't tell which is which." Blake likes elven culture? Who cares if it's not normal, Dewi wants to try pointed ears. The result, as Luce predicted, makes him look like a dark elf despite the contrast of his too bright clothes.
"So, I have to ask… does this mean you don't disapprove of….?" Luce laughs at him, actually laughs, like his serious question is a joke.
"Dewi, Dewi, Dewi… if I disapproved of your feelings, I would have stopped you long before now. Your crush is pretty obvious. I do have a question for you, though. Cronos or Blake, which one do you like more?"
Dewi thinks about the question, confused. It feels like a trick. They're the same person…. He does act differently, but it's not like that matters to Dewi. "Why do I need to choose?"
It seems like that answer is exactly what Lucius was looking for, because he smiles widely. It gives Dewi a warm feeling, like he just passed an important test. If only he knew then that it would be the easiest trial he would face on his journey to happily ever after.
