As soon as their roommates left, Dewi and Blake had started throwing a wild party. Well, not really, but they did opt for an impromptu dance party. It started with Blake mentioning owning a Superchic[k] CD and Dewi wanting to listen to it. Blake sets his radio up on a counter and presses play. A few songs in, a particularly energetic song comes on. Dewi, being Dewi, starts dancing ridiculously to the music, bumping into furniture a few times. By the end of the song Blake is laughing. Feeling a blow to his pride, Dewi states that he probably couldn't do better. Blake takes his challenge with the condition that they move the furniture to the sides of the room before starting. After doing so, they take turns trying to out dance each other. By the fifth song, they've forgotten it's a competition and are just having fun. They alternate between badly singing the songs’ lyrics and coming up with crazy and silly dance moves. Once one CD finishes, they just put in a different one. This continues for over an hour, at which time they decided to grab drinks before collapsing on the couch together. It takes Dewi ten minutes to notice that Blake has also grabbed a generic brand tea instead of his usual unlabelled bottle.
“I'm not trying to be your parent or anything, but did you mean to grab that and not your medicated stuff?”
“Oh, yeah, I haven't been needing it as much lately. I only need to drink it as needed so I can decrease how many I have per a day as long as nothing stresses me out too much. You know, like moving to a new place or my roommate almost overdosing on my meds from drinking after me.” He has a playful smile and they both laugh at the ridiculousness of the memory.
“Hey, it wasn't that bad, was it?”
“Not that bad!?! The warning label says one bottle can cause organ failure in low stress people. It could have killed you.”
“Well, sure but you took great care of me. And it was a good bonding moment.”
“Yeah, 'cause embarrassing myself is a great way to make friends…”
“With me it is. You're a really fun guy once you're comfortable and I'm probably even more embarrassing than you anyways.”
“Not possible.”
“You want to bet? I'm capable of making the most relaxed person embarrassed by sheer association.”
“My very existence is an embarrassment.” Well, actions speak louder than words, so Dewi decides to prove that he can be more embarrassing. He stands up, gets his laptop and starts playing a playlist of musical songs before badly acting out the first song, 'You'll Be Back’ from Hamilton. Blake joins in starting the next song, acting opposite parts. This continues for quite a few songs, some only having one or two characters, others having many.
This is how Luce comes home to the them acting out Be More Chill’s ‘The Play’ scene. Truthfully it is hilarious to watch. They get so into playing all the characters that they don't even notice Luce carrying a pizza and soda. In fact, they still don't notice him when the song ends and the next one starts. The two wordlessly decides the roles and start acting out the opening part of 'Popular’ from Wicked but freeze as they hear Luce's voice singing out the lyrics from the kitchen. He has set down the pizza and drinks, and is making his way to the living room, channeling the most exaggerated version of the singing character. Luce alternates who he's singing towards between his present roommates while they both stand stunned. As the song ends he lets the role go.
“Oh, sorry, I didn't know this was a private party.”
“It- it's not. We just…. we didn't hear you come in, Bro.”
“I could tell. You two were in your own world. Though, I didn't know you could be so theatrical, Blake.” It is clear Luce is teasing his brother. “Anyways, I brought pizza for you stars if you want a break from your performances. Sato said he'll pay me back so don't forget to thank him when he gets home.”
“Sounds great.” Blake starts for the bathroom. “I just need to use the restroom first, so it might be better for you guys to start without me.”
“Nonsense, Bro, we can wait, right Dewi?” Dewi nods.
“Okay, then I'll be right out.” As he walks into the bathroom, Luce turns to Dewi.
“I really am glad you guys are having so much fun. Blake hasn't been this relaxed in years. He's always been super anxious about even the tiniest things.”
“Isn’t that what his drinks are for?”
“Oh so he told you about that….” Luce has an amused smile on his face.
“Well…. He had to explain why he was forcing me to drink a disgusting caffeinated mixture.”
“You didn't….”
“Didn't what?” Blake walks out of the restroom. “What are we talking about?”
“Oh, I was just telling Big Brother here about our romantic lunch on my second day here...” Dewi teases.
Blake responds by pretending to be hurt. “I thought I could trust you.”
“And I thought we had something special, yet you didn't even tell your brother about it.”
“Wait. The second day you were here? That's the day Blake double dosed…” Luce turns to Blake. “You said nothing happened.”
“It wasn't anything to worry about, I took care of it.” Blake mumbles worriedly. On the other hand, Dewi looks mischievously at Luce.
“So is it true you forced a kiss on your brother, Mr. Perfect Sibling?”
Luce is shocked. “Blake!”
“... Mostly took care of it…” Dewi decides that moving in with these brothers is the best choice he ever made.

Luce wakes up the next morning genuinely feeling good. Sure what happened with that girl the other night still bugs him, but all of yesterday he was constantly reminded that there are people around him who care about him. Blake had been understanding, even about his decision to hypnotize himself into being 'better.’ Dewi had made sure that he was having too much fun to think about what happened. And Sato…. Satoshi had protected him when that girl came back. Truthfully, Lucius had been just as scared of accidentally using his powers as he had been of her touching him. When Sato had interrupted her trying to get to him, Luce could have kissed him. He should have…. it would have reinforced the act.
He would have to remember to thank Sato again for going above what a normal person would do. They had only been able to talk briefly when he got home last night and Luce can't remember if he had thanked him for the save. Despite his forgetting to thank them, he knows he can trust his roommates to always have his back. Even though they all have only known each other for very little time, there is obviously already a strong bond and Luce is glad for it.
He finally goes to the kitchen and starts on breakfast before anyone else gets up. Surprisingly, Satoshi is the first one out of his room.
“Morning, Luce. How are you feeling?”
“Good.”
“Actually good or are you still faking it like yesterday?”
“I really do feel better…. I'm not totally over what happened but I've got you guys so it's not like I'm alone…. I- I wanted to thank you for what you did yesterday. Thanks for pretending to be my boyfriend so that lady would leave me alone.”
“Anytime. I'll be your fake boyfriend whenever you need me to scare off unwanted attention.” How the hell does someone respond to that?
“I'll try not to abuse that offer.”
“Oh, do you get a lot of unwanted attention?”
“Well, I am quite an attractive guy. And I haven't ever been able to maintain a relationship for long so it's hard to turn people down. It's not like I can casually mention a girlfriend or boyfriend to make them leave me alone.”
“And now you can, at least until you get a real one. Just have when we started dating be the day I moved in. Say it was a blind date and we hit it off so we decided to keep dating. That should be easier to remember.”
Luce gives him an excited hug. “You are possibility the best roommate ever.”
“Luce…. your eggs are going to burn.”
Lucius rushes back to the stove. He focuses on the food for a while before speaking again. “Do you want some?”
“Of course. I love the food you make.” Suddenly Dewi pops out of his room.
“Did I hear ‘food’?” Luce answers with an affirmative before gesturing for them to set the table while he finishes making breakfast. “Where's our precious ball of anxiety, by the way?”
“Blake's probably avoiding you since yesterday you tattled to me about why he double dosed on his meds the other day. He probably can't even stand to be in the same room as you anymore.” Dewi gets visibly sad at Luce's words.
“But he was fine hanging out with me last night…. Plus you promised we'd probably be close friends really quickly.”
“That was before you blabbed about something he was hiding from me.”
“I don't care about getting free rent, just tell me how to fix it.”
“You can’t-” Blake, who no one noticed exiting his room, hits his brother upside the head.
“Idiot, don't make our princey cry. He's got work in an hour and they might fire him if he has puffy eyes.” Blake turns to Dewi. “And you, do you really think I would suddenly hate you over something so small? Luce is just jealous of my first best friend other than him.” And like that, Lucius’ teasing is put to a stop and Dewi is over the moon about being Blake's 'first best friend’. Breakfast ends up being pleasant and everyone goes their own directions afterwards.
