Pit hiked up the hill, her eyes glowering with fury as she made her way to the warehouse they kept the prisoner in overnight. Her heterochromatic eyes seemed to dance with the flames of the torched surround the path. A few guards standing by the door pressed a fist into an open palm and bowed deeply as a sign of respect.“He’s in here. After our guards found him last night, we decided to leave a note, so as not to disturb your slumber, milady.” The first guard and Arctic male reported.
“Good. Has he given you or any of the guards any trouble?”
“No milady. He’s been out cold all night. After our Trackers went out, they sent a warning howl to you to protect the village, and then, a moment later, a flash from the heavens. It seems the god or goddess he worships sent him some help.” The other guard, a Hispanic female, reported.
“How many died?” Pit asked, her face showing deep concern and remorse.
“Seven. Gorda, Ruth, Onre, Gemma, Horace, Keith, and Zora.” The Hispanic said. At the name Zora, she choked up.
“I'm so sorry, Riuta. I sorry Zora was sent. I can't-...... I can't even know how you feel.”
“It is okay….. I-I loved her, yes, but.” Riuta let out a small laugh as tears streamed down her face. “She was always the brave one, you know. Never feared death. That’s what made her a good tracker.”
“Ri…… If you need time off, you may leave. I know how hard it is.”
“Going home will only make it worse.” She shook her head as more tears slipped down her face. “It's not going to be the same without her. I won’t be able to turn up to her when my shifts are over. I won’t……. I won’t have anybody to cook for or anyone to……” She burst into a loud sob.
“Kaito, comfort her.” Pit said, placing a tentative hand on her shoulder.
“Don't worry. Just make that trespassing bastard pay.” Kaito hugged Riuta as the two of them slipped to the ground. More guards came and took their place so Riuta could cry in peace. Pit turned to the door and stormed in, her eyes now full of rage worth millions of sons. She stormed into the room where the trespasser was being kept. She slammed the door closed, causing the prisoner to wake with a sudden jolt in the chair he was chained down in.
“Don't. Move.” She snarled, trying her best not to kill him on sight.
“What!?” Nik shouted opening his eyes with a start looking to see who was jostling him. “Who’s there?” He asked looking around then focused on Pit.
Pit growled and slammed her balled up fists on the table across the chair Nik was in. “WHAT in your right mind makes you think you can not only trespass on my land, but you've managed to KILL seven of my best Trackers, not to mention, by best friends mate, who happens to be the leader of that Tracker group. You have no excuse! I should punish you to the Gallows and Torture Dungeon, but you know what's stopping me? My brains. If I were any less of a person I am, your body would be bloodied and broken already and hanging from a tree while everybody watched you squirm until you die. You are so lucky I'm willing to give you a chance to talk. Sooooo lucky…..” Pit was gripping her nails into her palms so hard, she was beginning to bleed a little and she was going white-knuckled. It took all of her willpower to not beat the poor sap up right then and there.
“Red and light blue.” was all Nik said.
“What. Did. You. Just. Say?!!” Pit asked
“You’re angry and grieving. I’m guessing it was because of those wolves, am I right?” Nik asked
“They are not just “those wolves”. “Those wolves” were people with families, wives, husbands, children! And you slaughtered them all!”
“I-I’m sorry I was attacked by a wolf before I met them. He hurt me badly I- I panicked and didn’t realize they were people! but wait I didn’t kill them.” Nik said the last part softly
“Wait, was his name something like Haruda Nazamiki?”
“Idk he jumped out of the shadows and attacked me. I attacked back with my dagger and got him but I have no idea who he was or why he attacked me.” Nik answered.
“What was his coloration?!”
“I don’t know. I’m sorry.” Nik answered.
“You have to remember something! This is essential!” Pit almost shouted
“I don’t. I’m, well, you see… ” He answered.
“Did he speak? What did he say? Was his voice gruff and harsh?!” She continued to question profusely.
“Yes, he said “damn human” after attacking.” He answered.
“So it's true, then. He really did carry out his mission……. I'm sorry you were on the receiving end of his bidding, but he is the only one who acts this way. Our kind…….. We….. how do I put this? Admire, you humans….. Hybrids and humans have and rocky history, but we were always on the receiving end of this hate…. We never attacked the humans before, until Haruda….. A vengeful, vile wolf, who lost his entire family to the hands of human trappers.”
“Well, you see, I’m not exactly human,” Nik said his silver eyes shined.
“That's obvious.” Pit retorted with a snort. “I'm not blind. Oh, wait, sorry….. I didn't mean that to be offensive.”
“I’m an Alv and, I’m not offended. It happened a lot from where… from where I came from ” Nik explained.
“Hmm, interesting…… If it makes you feel better, my parents wanted me to go to a human school, like one of our very old Alphas on Old World, but….. They didn't like me too much….. The called me freak and shit, and, well, I flipped my shit and got expelled. My parents wanted so desperately to make peace again, but I guess peace is unreachable……” Pit said, her ears flopping down in shame as she hung her head.
“Don’t worry. Nothing is ever truly unreachable. You just need the right hands to get it, and sometimes that’s what other people are for.” Nik said with a bright smile to Pit. Then, a small ghostly blue light shined from Nik’s right shoulder.
Pit growled and went into a defensive position, her hand instinctively going back to her hidden dagger. The guards standing back by the door stepped forward, their lances raised as the shouted in a language Nik couldn't understand.
“ARDE! ARDE! KONO NAKU!”
“Uhhh. have you guys never seen a wysp before?” Nik asked the glowing blue light took shape it took the shape of a snake with wings and two curled horns. The wysp opened its eyes, which shined a bright white. The wysp slithered through the air as if it was swimming and slithered around Nik and looked at Pit. “Hmmmmm. That’s new.” Nik commented.
Pit tilted her head, her eyes entranced in the wysps’ eyes. Her own eyes reflected the white of the wysps’.
The blue wysp drifted from Nik’s side and slithered over towards Pit looking at her curiously.
~Meanwhile~
Porthos slip out from under his side project he was working on. He got up and looked at it, it had a squarish body with a nose that came out a few feet. It was a dull rusty color. On the inside, there was some weird machinery that he had been tinkering with. In a corner, there was some other machinery from the ship under the village he had been pillaging in his spare time. The room was about the size of a gym filled with machinery everywhere.
He picked up a sheet off the floor and covered his project with it. He walked over to a table and picked up a paper with his name on it from Pit. It read-
Porthos,
I need you to fix up one of my motorcycles. One of my guards has brought it down to you. When you are done bring it up to my warehouse.. I should also mention that the payment is 250 gold pieces.
Thank you.
-Pit
“Ok… whatever.” He thought out loud. He walked outside grabbed the motorcycle and walked it inside. He put the kickstand down and started to get to work. He took out the engine and brought it over to the table. He took out the spark plug, replaced it with a new one and put it back. He tinkered with it a little and put the engine back in the chassis. He put the key in and started it up no problem.
“Well, that settled.” He said. He grabbed one of his homemade motorcycle trailers, attached it to one of his motorcycles and put Pits motorcycle on the trailer. He walked over to the wall and opened a big door he walked back to his table, put on his helmet, and walked back over to his cycle and started it. The sound of the reving filled the shop. He drove out, stopped, shut the door, and walked back over to cycle and drove off, heading in the direction of the warehouse. Making people get out of his way.
Back at the Warehouse
In the warehouse the small floating wysp was circling Pit, it’s glowing white eyes seemed to scan over her until the wysp stopped and looked at Pit’s side. Pit regained herself before seeing where the wysp was looking.
“Oh, my tattoo?” She asked, pulling up her shirt revealing a long green serpent winding around her, crawling up her arm, and all the way to the back of her hand, where it's head lay. The head was complete with a pair of ram horns and the serpents twin tails, near her hips, we're folded like a leaf, an tipped with a barb of a scorpion. “This…… This is the Ramorpio leaf snake, part ram, part scorpion, part leaf snake. She symbolizes Loki, God of Mischief.” Pit explained before rolling her shirt down. She noticed the guys were staring at her, which caused her to blush furiously. “What?! Shut up and stop staring!!” She practically shouted as her face turned the dark crimson of embarrassment.
“Well I have an excuse for staring, as I can’t see,” Nik said looking blanky towards them. “And that explains why he was acting off,” Nik commented.
“What's that supposed to mean?!” Pit asked, still quite flustered.
“Well, you see, I’m what they call a Wyspwalker, and my wysp/god is Jormungand. You know, the world serpent and the reason he was acting weird was because your marking represents his father, Loki. Wait a second can you untie me I need you to test something.” Nik asked.
“Wait, Loki?!” Pit asked as a memory popped up in her mind. The memory was of her as a newborn child. She wasn't crying like a woman in dark green and black cloak gave him up to her father. This woman had long black hair and striking emerald green eyes. Her father's wispy platinum blond hair seemed to go white under the full moonlight. His deep violet eyes filled with remorse.
“Do you have to go, Loren?”
“I must, and before I go, I…… Have a confession to make……”
“Lor-.”
“The name is Loki.” Her mother now changed into his normal masculine from. “God of Mischief. Odinson.”
“How….?!”
“I can't say. I’m sorry. I must go until she becomes of age!
“But…. Pit is a male…..”
Loki let out a chuckle “All in due time, Marks. All in due time.”
The memory ended and Pit was thrown back into her reality. “WAIT I HAVE A WORLD DESTROYER FOR A STEP BROTHER?!”
Nik closed his eyes for a second and sighed. “Yes, now can you please untie me?” Nik asked. “Like seriously these ropes are tight.”
Pit frowned an nodded to one of the guards behind Nik. He sliced the bonds and released him.
“Thank you,” Nik said then the wysp slither back over to his side. “Now then. The name’s Niklus Or-... Orune. and-” Nik’s eyes turned a metallic silver color reflecting everyone’s faces. “- I’m very sorry for earlier.” He apologized bowing to Pit and the guards. His entire personality seemed to have changed from the calm collected person to a meek and scared one.
The guards let the apology roll off their shoulders. “Eh. It's our job.” One fierce looking one said. This guy was rocking a side-shaved blonde mohawk hairstyle, almost like something delinquent would style their hair to be like.
“Ok then Now I’m guessing you’ve figured it out then? That you’re a wyspwalker?” Nik asked Pit.
“Wyspwalker……” Pit said in a daze.
Porthos pulled up in his cycle in front of the warehouse, he glanced at the guards and brought out the ID Pit gave him. He showed it to the guards and they opened a garage door to the left of them. He drove the cycle in and took his helmet off. He looked around and saw Pit and the guards with an unknown male in the center.
“Oh, another person has joined us,” Nik said looking at Porthos. His silver eyes fading back to their gray color.
“Yeah, another person…” Porthos said looking at him questioning. “May I ask, who are you? If it’s classified I completely understand.”
“Oh, I’m Niklus Orune. I’m an Alf and I’m blind, nice to meet you.” Nik introduced himself to the man.
“Well, nice to meet you Niklus. The name’s Porthos, Porthos Aramis.” He said with a grin.
“Nice to meet you to Porthos,” Nik said with a smile.
“Yeah, same. Well, Pit, here's your bike! The spark plug was faulty and some of the circuitry was fried, so try to keep it somewhat dry next time okay?” He said to her.
“Got it. Thanks again Porthos. Your money is in your mailbox, like always.”
“Sooooooo... Am I allowed to leave now?” Nik asked. “I came here to find someone. He told me to come here if I ever needed to escape the empire.” Nik said.
“Interesting… I have heard about an organization that resists the empire. I don’t know what they call themselves, but if you want, you can come back to my shop and stay with me, if it’s okay with Pit of course.” He said glancing at Pit and smiling slightly.
“Oh no, I wasn’t apart of that. Let's just say that I am not allowed there anymore without a disguise I’ve… gotten in trouble with the royal family.” Nik said with no hint of sarcasm.
“Well, my offer still stands if you want to stay with me. The inns here are not exactly cheap.”
“I don’t have to stay with you or at the inn, that man told me that if I was in need of help to come to him, so I was hoping that he was here,” Nik said.
“Okay, well if you need anything, feel free to come to my shop.” He said, giving Nik his card.
“Actually Pit,” Nik said looking right at pit his gray eyes seemingly tracking her down. “You’re the alpha right?” Nik asked.
“Indeed I am.” Was all Pit had to say to that.
“Ok, I was wondering if you knew the man I met during a battle between the humans and this village. His name was Marks.” Nik asked
“M-Marks?!” Pit asked, completely shocked to hear the name of her father. “Yes. Yes, I do. I should know him. He’s my father.
“Oh well, that makes things easier. Let’s go meet him.” Nik said.
