After training in basic martial arts when I finally woke up I didn't even look at my second. Two lines of fire were burning my back. I shot up and off of my seconds lap and made a beeline for the bathroom. My only thought was, “Don’t get blood on the white carpet!” Thanks to my speed and reflexes I didn't get anything on the carpet. Thank god. Blood was never gonna come out of the carpet. I just made it to the hallway when the pain from my back intensified. I collapsed but my second ,I really need to figure out her name, caught me before I could hit the ground. She carefully picked me up and carried me the rest of the way to the bathroom. She gently set me on the floor and ripped my shirt off. This really hurts! “Name!” I gasped, “What's your name?!” She grabbed some towles from the cabinet, “It’s just second.” Ow! “What? Why?” She gently pressed a wet towel to my back, “Ow!” “Sorry. My parent through it would be hilarious to name me Second.” I hissed a sound that didn't sound entirely human, “Wow. Creative.” She snorted, “Tell me about it.” She moved the towle away and looked at my back, “Okay, Your wings are coming. This is going to go fast.” I gripped the edge of the tub, “Okay.” I bit my lip and tightened my grip on the edge of the tub as the pain in my back got even worse. I stayed in that window of pain for a few minutes until I heard a whoosh and the rustle of feathers. I could move my wings they were like an extra set of arms. I looked behind me my wings were jet black and strong looking but they were covered in blood. I moved them slowly up and down. Ignoring the lingering pain. I stopped moving them when I started lifting myself off the bathroom floor. Second gently started to wipe the blood off of them. “You need to keep them out for today. But after they are washed and dried you can pull them back into you back.” “Where do they go?” “They fold into your back on either side of your spinal cord.” “Okay, do they hurt my back everytime I use them?” She nodded, “No, once you pull them in or out your back will instantly heal over. But there will be a scar.” Great i've got school on Monday. How am I going to hid this when I need to change for gym? Whatever. Ill figure it out later. “Okay you're wings are clean. Try to lift yourself off the floor with them.” I moved my wings down on instinct. The force of it lifted me off of the floor without me needing to use my arms or legs. Second noded, “Good, now let's go outside are work on takeoffs and landing.” Second slowly unfurled her own light brown wings from her back.
