Basil groaned and tried to open his eyes, but the light was too bright, his eyes were throbbing and he couldn't feel his arms, couldn't move them either.
He groaned, rolling over and finally opening his eyes long enough to see a person, a woman, staring at him.
She smiled, "Good morning sunshine, it's about time you woke up."
Basil screamed, rolling over and falling off the bed. He finally gained feeling in his arms and pushed himself up. Once standing he noticed that there were more people in the room, not just the woman. He reached for the closest thing to use as a weapon, a lamp on the table next to the bed he was on less than 30 seconds ago.
"Woah, slow down there big guy," One of the people inside the room said, holding up his hands and inching closer to basil as if trying to calm down a stray dog, "We don't mean any harm. Okay?"
No, not okay. These people kidnapped him, maybe even drugged him with how long it's taking him to come to. And all they have to say for it is we mean no harm. Basil's heard that before. He didn't want to stick around to see if the results were different.
"Don't come anywhere near me." The man stopped in his tracks. Basil finally looked around the room-really looked. And he noticed a certain someone was not among the five-plus individuals in his room.
"Where's Pip?"
The woman from before spoke up with enthusiasm, "Oh, he's in another room. His body did not handle the uh, she paused, "The trip, as well as you."
Basil took that to mean they had drugged Pip too.
"Oh my god" Basil murmured, trying to think of a way he could get him and Pip out of this mess.
But he was coming up empty. He was surrounded. He was outnumbered. And the only thing he had to defend himself was a measly lamp. The man from before inches a little closer, "Listen, we're not trying to hurt you. But I need you to put down the lamp first, Okay?"
"Fuck off"
The man sighed, "Have it your way" He takes one swift step toward Basil and rips the lamp out of his hands before he could even think to react his arm was twisted behind his back and his head was in a chokehold.
The man seems to think better of letting Basil go and keeps a hold of his arm. He does take his arm of Basil's neck when he sees that he can't breathe. One of the other people in the room steps forward. Basil instinctively tries to take a step back but the man holding his arm nudges him, giving him a warning saying,
"I wouldn't do that if I were you."
Basil huffs but says nothing. He watches this new man approach him. He was tall, taller than Basil, and he was pretty tall. He had to crane his face to look up at him.
"Let's start over, shall we. I feel like we've got off on the wrong foot." He sits on the bed Basil was once on, "My name is Gael, and I, nor anyone else here, want to hurt you.
"And my friend here, "Gael gestured to the man holding Basil's arm, "is Samier and he'll let you go, but only if you promise not to do anything. Do you think you can do that?"
At first, Basil was reluctant, but his arm was beginning to cramp, "Okay."
Gael smiled, "Great, now why don't you sit down and we'll try to answer any questions you have."
Samier lets go and Basil pushed before going and standing as close to the door as possible.
"Where's Pip?"
The woman who had first talked to smiled, "You mean the little one? Oh, he's been the perfect guest."
"Where is he?"
"Oh, he's just down the hall, to the righ-"
"Alina!" Gael snapped, but it was to no avail. Basil had heard everything he needed to know, and he was out of the door and making his way down the hall, trying and for the most part failing to open every door on his right, as almost every door was locked. But eventually, at the end of the hallway, the last door was open.
Immediately upon entering the room, Basil sets his eyes on Pip. He's sitting on his bed twiddling with his fingers. When the door opens Pip's head shoots up, "Bay, Oh my god." He immediately runs toward Basil and wraps in his arms as best he could.
Basil grips his hips and pushes him at shoulder length and gives him a once over looking for any visible injuries, "Are you okay? Did they hurt you?"
Basil now had his hands on Pip's face to keep eye contact, but Pip wasn't having any of it. He let Basil keep his hands on his face for all of two seconds before pushing his hands off.
"Yeah I'm fine," Pip mumbled, "Just a little," Pip paused not knowing what to say. He'd just been through something he never even fathomed happening to himself, "dazed?"
"Yeah." Basil laughed, "Me too."
Gael walked into the room with Samier following shortly after. BAsil instinctively moved Pip behind him.
"Well now that you've seen your little friend, shall we get to business?" Gael asked, seemingly growing more and more irritated with the situation.
Basil pulled Pip closer to him, "Why don't you just let us go?"
"You came here for a reason, didn't you? Don't you want to find out what that reason is?"
"If I say no will you let me go?"
Pip nudged Basil, "What?"
Pip looked down, playing with the hem of his shirt, "I mean, we did come all this way. What do we have to lose?"
Basil scoffed, "I don't know, our lives."
"Remember what I said before
Yeah yeah, something about you'd rather die in a blaze of glory than live a boring life or whatever."
Pip just stared at him, with a sort of expression that said, 'Really.' Basil tried to last, he really did. But he's coming to the realization that he can't say no to Pip, and its really starting to piss him off.
"Okay fine," Basil grumbled.
"Great, "Gael grinned, standing up and walking toward the door, "First things first, a tour. You're going to be staying here a while so you should ni where everything is."
"What?"
"Ignore him." Pip pushed himself in front of Basil and followed Gael. Basil groaned.
This was gonna be a long day.
