I shivered as I walked to the library trying to keep my fingers from turning blue in the November wind. It was stupid to walk to the library in below freezing temperatures. I'll admit my mistake there. All though my only other option was a crowded bus packed with screaming children. My car broke down and is currently in the shop so here I am. Walking to the library seemed like the least worst option. Besides the library wasn't far from the school you just walk in a straight line for a couple of blocks. It seemed easy enough.
I was almost there when I noticed a black car parked next to the sidewalk. I couldn't tell you what car it was for the life of me. I've never been good with cars and I most likely never will be. I don't really have an interest in them. I am proud of the fact that I can change my own oil and tiers if I ever need to thanks to my ex-girlfriend who thought me how.
A girl hopped out of her warm car when she noticed me. she looked older then me at first glance but I pegged her to be seventeen, the same age as me. She had black hair styled into a braid and dark blue eyes. She wore a simple pair of blue jeans and a white t-shirt with a black heavy coat on. I didn't recognize her from school but that didn't really mean allot. I don't know everyone. She made sure I was looking at her and smiled. I don't honestly know what made me stop and talk to her. Maybe it was the fact that she looked familiar? Maybe I thought her hair was pretty? Maybe the pursue of society telling teenagers to always be polite kicked in?
The point is I stopped walking. She stepped towards me and held out her hand for a handshake like it was the 1800s, “Hi, I'm Damon I was wondering if you could help me. I just transferred over to the local high school.” The smile she gave me as I shook her hand was cute. She even had dimples.
“I'm Cade.” I wasn't sure what she wanted. I'm not great with social interactions but usually you ask a question when you want something.
“If you have time. I was wondering if you could help me find a few of my classes.” she must have noticed the confused look on my face because she started to explain, “I came after school today so I can find all of my classes and get my locker situated before I actually attend my first day tomorrow.”
“Oh.” I still didn't get why she couldn't do that herself or ask someone else to do it. She really didn't need me for this and I was just standing there freezing my fingers off. I thought about it for a minute. If I was new I would want someone to help me, “Ok, I'll show you around but I need to be back at the library by four.” If I set a time limit I wouldn't need to be there for hours. I could use it as an excuse to bail when I wanted to. Her smile got impossibly wide at my willingness to help.
“Great, everything's working.” It seemed like she mumbled that last part to herself. It was an odd thing to say but I ignored it. She got in and turned the heat up. I slipped into the passenger seat into the thankfully warm car but she didn't start driving. She just sat there and let the car idle in park. After a few seconds of weirdness she looked at me. I'm not really sure how to describe the look. It was creepy that's for sure. A few alarms started to go off. They weren't very loud she could just be weird. “Damon?” I subtly gripped the door handle in case I needed to make a run for it. She seemed to finally remember that I was in the car with her. She reached in her pocket and pulled out a syringe. Her smile went from odd to Freddy Kruger, “Just hold still this won't hurt much.” Ya...... No. I'm not getting abducted today. I've got a half finished book at home. I pushed open the door but she's literally only an arms length away from me. I managed to get out but before I made it a foot away her impressively strong arm looped around my waist and pulled me back in.
“Let go of me!” I fell back into her as I kicked and screamed. I even tried to bite her. I'm savage enough to sink my teeth into this girls arm.
“Hold still!” she growled. I don't think she though I would fight this much. Surprise bitch. After quiet a bit of struggle she managed to stab the needle into my thigh. It hurt more then I thought it would, "Owww! You brat! I'm going to remember this stupid needle! Only my doctor gets to give me shots!" I kept struggling and trying to bite her but everything was getting hazy around the edges. I was still trying to kick her out of spite as the lights went out.
