I walked in and went straight to my room. I grabbed a random pair of pajamas out of my closet on the way to the bathroom. The whole time I clutched that necklace like I was afraid someone would sneak up behind me and steel it. The second I reached the bathroom I closed the door locking it behind me. I turned on the facet and washed the rest of the mud off the necklace along with any mud on my face and hands. I wanted to put on my nice warm pajamas but my hand refused to put the necklace down. I literally could not make myself do it. I even tried to pry my fingers open with my other hand. After almost breaking one of my fingers trying to get myself to let go of this necklace I gave in, “Fine” I growled at the necklace. “Have it your way.”
I wrapped the necklace tightly around my left wrist like a bracelet. Finally able to use both of my hands I peeled off my wet close and threw on my pajamas. By the time I was done changing a it was well beyond dark outside. I might as well go to bed. I studied myself in the mirror as I brushed back my medium length unnaturally light brown hair into a ponytail. My bright green eyes looked as tired as I felt. My usually pale skin was even paler than usual. I stalked out of the bathroom and fell straight into bed. The warm blankets felt amazing…....….. Is the necklace burning?................
