“But you said, identical, and Athena and I are most definitely not identical.” Chill said.
“Please, you could so pull off wearing my skirts bro... or should I say sis?” I grinned and air kissed towards my brother.
Chill tugged on my hand, which was still clasping his, “hush you, or I'll hex you into next week.”
“We don't do hexes.” Hades said with a tortured look on his face.
“So... what do we do?” Achilles asked.
Hades opened his mouth to reply, when Dad cut him off, “They're different than you, Hades, because of their great, great, grandfather. Especially Athena. She has more of the fae magic than Achilles, actually my daughter is a bit of a throwback, when we had her measured, her tests came back almost pure fae, with a hint of mage power. Achilles tested with a sliver of fae magic, but he has a lot more mage power than his sister. Both of them tested high in their prospective magics, so they'll both end up Master class, or possibly Diamond class mages, the last time they were tested, they'd just turned ten,” Dad moved around the couch and sat on the middle cushion. He'd clearly warmed up to this topic, and his bright blue eyes sparkled.
Hades glanced at me as if I'd grown two heads. “That's even more reason for them to have had training all this time. With that kind of power, the two of them could rip a hole in the fabric of the world, or accidentally cause the tectonic plates to shatter, or something else, equally catastrophic.”
Mom waved Hades's concern away with a flick of her hand. She sat down next to Dad, “We have plenty of protections on them, and they had some training when they were babies, they just don't remember it. They're both naturally balanced too, so they won't lose their centers. So your concern is sweet, but not necessary.”
Hades ran his hands through his hair and I could tell he was trying not to growl at my parents. This was obviously not going how he pictured. Of course, it wasn't going quite how I'd expected either! “I'm Diamond class, I have been for six years. With all due respect, are either of you Master or Diamond?” He asked.
My parents looked at each other, then at Hades. “We're both Journeyman class.”
Hades closed his eyes and pressed the palms of his hands over them. “Any protections you've put on them could be burned through in a moment of duress. They need...” Hades seemed at a loss for words. He dropped his hands to the kotatsu's top and looked at my parents. “They need a magical boot camp. They don't even know about the most basic of magics!”
“Are you suggesting you should teach us?” I asked him, not entirely sure I liked the idea. He was kinda arrogant.
“Yes. Myself and my twin could teach the two of you.” He nodded, “it's almost an imperative that we teach you.”
“You can't teach Athena, though you might be able to teach Achilles.” her mom said and my brother winced when she didn't use his nickname. “Fae magic is extremely different from our magic, as you well know. They'll have to go visit their great, great, grandfather.”
