Murni had to shield his eyes for a moment as the brightness surprised him; being how unnatural the light seemed to be. A glowing orb floated above the room illuminating every square inch causing all reflective surfaces to glimmer ever so brightly that it hurt his eyes if he stared too long. Expecting the dining room to be as dark as the throne room this came as a pleasant surprise lessening the tension in his shoulders. A surprisingly reasonable size table placed in the middle covered in a light shade of green surrounded by ten chairs with small delicate features carved into them. Compelled by curiosity, he walked towards the closest and noticed how the seat was raised a little adored with a plum seat cushion on top. But what fascinated him more was the carvings he spotted earlier depicting a story of something, as if reading his thoughts the figures moved, getting an uneasy feeling he left to the next chair. It was a very broad strong looking chair though it seemed to have been repaired and littered with scratches marring the carvings slightly to blur the images but not enough to hide a strong figure shielding a smaller form. Afraid that the images would also move despite being in a distorted state he moved away from where other chairs remained. Seven of the remaining chairs all held similarities to the second chair he had examined, but with subtle differences. Noticing this he chosen to ignore them and went to examine to check out the rest of the chairs. The first chair seemed delicate but sturdy enough to withhold the redness as if bleeding wood decked with the picture presenting a whirlwind of images that screamed emotion. Where the other one seemed larger in size but only slightly with the back end tall and overwhelming accompanied with darkness. His instincts screamed to keep his distance, yet curious he inched forward to further explore the red chair when the doors opened revealing not only Maot Nona but also the girl, whom Hydra called Lady Shemi.
Backing away from the chairs, Murni stood at attention straitening his clothes and trying his best not to appear nervous in front of the two most powerful women in the realm. They strode in with an air of authority merely stopping to greet the young demon who was slowly losing his calm demeanor
"Good evening Mr. Bortis, I hope that your day has been," she gave a mirthful smile, "eventful."
"Um... it was some....er...it was Madam Death." He did not meet her eyes, instead, he lifted his right arm to touch his left chest in a sign of respect.
Giving off just a small hum, she made her way to the head of the table with the ominous chair. Shemi followed suit sitting in the red chair that Murni had wondered about only moments ago.
He stood still glancing at all the chairs wondering where to sit when Madam Death gestured to the one across from her. The chair was, in terms of appearances, plain lacking in any sort of characteristics that gave the other chairs personality. Taking his seat he couldn't help but question the whereabouts of the other chairs occupants. To his only answer was that they will arrive at a later time. The was in short a tense quiet that came to be suffocating to the demon as he ate his entrée. It was a small bowl of stew, which gave off an unnatural chill, but Death's steel eyes promoted him to eat. Throughout his whole meal, he felt—more than saw—Moat Nona's eyes boring into his very soul making swallowing a struggle in of itself. It wasn't until little after mid-meal that the other occupants joined in. All the hydras dressed in simple, but elegant robes with the exception of one who wore chains draped all over his body in restraint of his violent tendencies. Even Gon, who followed soon after, wore a better vest and trousers; not including the subtle scuff on his face, he seemed well fitting in the crowd. Bowing slightly before their mistress, they each took their own seat in their respectful seats with Gon and the orange Hydra to either of Murni sides.
"Now that everyone is here we shall commence with our meal." With a wave of her hand doors appeared and dozens of spirited wisps flew in carrying plates of unique kinds of foods. Placing all the dishes upon the table and leaving just as soon until the very last one was gone. Even when he was allowed to join his family for dinner, he never saw as much variation as he did before him now. When everything was settled and the wisps left Murni could only stare in awe. Moat Nonna chuckled at the demon's face as it lit up with glee as he reached for a roll only to have his hand smacked instead. She watched a moment longer as Gon scolded the demon and stated simply that no one eats until Madam Death does; only then does she start to cut slowly at her meat. She took great pleasure from the angst that rolled off of Murni, as he stared longing at her plate as his own remain untouched. Taking great care to cut a neat little square of meat she finally raised it to her mouth.
The Hydras, of course, dug in with gusto, some withholding a proper appearance while others just threw out the proper décor, but not enough to seem barbaric. Gon, on the other hand, ate slowly keeping his guard up as he watched his table companions with distrust. Murni however, just ate nearly drooling as he did so completely overwhelmed by the flavors that entered his mouth. Just as he was about to take another bite, Orange nudged his side and gesturing with his head towards Cobalt Blue; who was glaring daggers at him.
"Show some proper etiquette idiot. He did not waste over nearly two hours to show how to eat properly just so you can throw it back into his face. Is what he wants me to tell you, though ignoring those over there," he nodded towards Red, White, and Violet eating in a chaotic fashion, "You are the worse one here, hell even that goblin has better manners than you." Gon just shot the Hydra with a glare before looking at Cobalt Blue with an evil grin. With both hands, he lifted his drink and tilted it back allowing a small trail to flow out his mouth before letting out a small puff of air when he was done. Then in a very mocking motion, daintily pattered his face with a silken napkin and laying it in his lap. Resting both elbows on the table, he continued to eat all while ignoring those around him. Murni couldn't help but chuckle at Gon's antics it took him by surprise after all; even Orange let out a breath of laughter.
