Jonas
Jonas exited the apartment, cool air hitting his face, breathing in the smell of rain. Holding onto the wet metal railing as he made his way towards the stairs. Patting his front pockets and the seat of his pants as he walked down the wooden steps. It took him a sec to realize his phone was in his coat pocket. He took it out to check if he had any messages. He nearly tripped on his way down the steps at the amount of missed calls he had from Nick. Closing out of the messages Jonas called himself a cab, brushing his curly bangs off his forehead.
He didn't wanna have to hear Nick's yelling so he went ahead and texted him a quick: I'm okay, just a little (lot) late
Looking up as the cab approached Jonas got in. Was it wrong that he was a little disappointed that nothing happened? As a grown man, with a scarily inactive sex life mind you, it was only natural to feel those sorts of urges. Then there was Sky who clearly wanted him or at least it seemed like it. You only kiss people you like or at least find attractive. Jesus Jonas! God he sounded like a weirdo.
Admitting neither of them were ready was the right thing to do though. Jonas just wouldn't feel right having sex with someone on the first date. Not to mention he'd only feel like he was using Sky and being used.
Jonas' phone vibrated in his pocket. A little reluctant he took the phone out of his pocket to read what was undoubtedly Nick's reply.
Next time I call you, answer
I'm not in trouble???
Oh you're in trouble. I hope you have enough data on that phone cause I'm changing the wifi passcode.
Snorting Jonas shook his head, closing out the messages. Opening up a book from his library Jonas scrolled through for something steamy. He had a tendency to read those kinds of things when he was bored and was currently looking at a short fanfic that he'd been reading the past three days. He couldn't focus on the words though as the possibility that he might see Sky again soon occupied his thoughts.
Smiling to himself Jonas sunk down in his seat, giggling a little as he put his hands on his cheeks. Was he blushing? His face felt too hot for him not to be blushing.
Jonas almost didn't notice that the cab had come to a stop. Apologizing Jonas paid the cabbie and gave a small tip before exiting the vehicle. It was eleven am meaning David was likely awake too so he'd have to deal the both of them. But then again they'd started to become surprisingly lenient the past few months, in fact they were becoming more lenient the closer it was to becoming may. His birthday was a long ways away though and Jonas was hoping to have his own place by then. Hell, irresponsible Jillian had her own place now. Jonas needed to step his game up.
Entering the building Jonas stepped into the nearest elevator. He was really hoping that his parents would be understanding. It wasn't like he had done or planned on doing anything. Jonas hadn't had the chance to go out with anyone in a long time and just thinking about last night had him blushing again.
Good Lord please say that he didn't have a crush. There was something about having a crush that messed with your brain and made it hard to think straight and see people for what they really were. Jonas didn't think he could handle ugly right now. He needed to focus on school and himself before focusing on a relationship.
The elevator opened with a ding and Jonas walked forward, exiting it as he absentmindedly studied the pattern on the carpet. When he entered the house Nick and David were nowhere to be seen, probably in their room watching TV.
"Jonas is that you?" David's voice called out.
Jonas turned his head just in time for David to peek his head out of the kitchen. Frowning he cocked his head to the side at him before his face flushed and covered his eyes.
"Are you naked?" Jonas shouted, groaning aloud as David chuckled.
"Well good morning second love of my life," David said. "Glad to see you're back home."
"I hope you're not gonna try to give me a hug. You know what, I'm just gonna head to my room, call me when there's food," Jonas said, slowly making his way to what he hoped was the hall.
David voiced his affirmation before heading back into the kitchen. Once Jonas made it into the hall way he took his hands off his face, letting out a sigh of relief as he entered his room.
So he wasn't in trouble? ~For the first time in forever~. He was in the clear for now but once it was time for dinner they would sit him down for a talk. Until then he needed to talk to one of his friends. Though Jillian could be... something else at times she was always easy to talk to. Her blunt approach to things was often harsh but true. Still it wouldn't hurt to at least try to sugar coat things.
Taking his phone out of his pocket Jonas hung his jacket up on the back of his desk chair, letting out a heavy sigh as he flopped back on the bed. Dialing up Jill's number Jonas put the phone up to his ear, a hello sounding soon after.
"Hey, it's me," Jonas said, relaxing a bit as he laid in bed.
"Where the hell have you been? You totally skipped out on us last week and yesterday afternoon," Jill said.
A little confused Jonas frowned, "What happened yesterday afternoon?"
"Nothing. But if we did have something planned, you wouldn't have been there! Anyway what have you been up to? It's been like a week since you last showed me attention and I am dying."
"Um... Promise you won't go blabbing to anyone about this," Jonas said, biting his bottom lip, studying a lone sticker he somehow stuck to the ceiling at one point.
"You have no faith in me. What is it anyway? The only person I tell things to is my sister."
"And she doesn't know how to keep her mouth closed."
"Fair enough. Well tell me, I like secrets and it's gotta be a secret if you're the one telling it."
Frowning Jonas said, "What's that supposed to mean?"
"Nothing, you're just so anti towards everybody and you never really tell us anything. I know you need your alone time mister introvert but you gotta send out at least a quick text to remind people you're alive."
"I don't talk to you for like a few days and this is what happens." Sighing Jonas brought his hand up to touch his cheek, if he were blushing at least he was alone and on a regular call so Jill couldn't see. "I've been kinda seeing this guy."
"What!?" Jill shrieked.
Dropping the phone with a jolt Jonas plugged his ear up, waiting for the weird ticklish feeling in it to go away before picking the phone back up. "Was that necessary?"
"Sorry. I just- You... What do you mean you're seeing someone? I've been trying to get you to go to bars with me since we started school," Jill whined, causing Jonas roll his eyes.
"You're just saying that cause you just really wanted to go to a gay bar for literally no reason."
"I can't get you into a speedo let alone a bar, gay or not. So how long have you been talking to this new guy?"
Was he really doing this right now? Gossiping like a sixteen year old highschooler with unrealistically high standards in men?
"Like... A week..."
"... You're worse than me."
Gasping Jonas sat upright. "Am not! We actually talk and we've gone out a few times and I've even been to his place-"
"Ooh, somebody's been having a lot of fun without me."
"Okay, ew."
"You know I'm just kidding! I know you're not like that but still, I'm surprised you didn't wait longer to tell me. I mean you waited like a month before telling me you were talking to that Mal guy-"
"Malik."
"And from what you told me you guys didn't have much going on behind closed doors. Yet you've known this guy for a week and he managed to seduce you and take you home."
"He didn't- he didn't seduce me. To be honest I mostly went cause I'm kind of worried about him. You have to promise you won't tell anyone anything."
Sinking back down on his bed Jonas inhaled, racking his brain for a good way to say this without making Sky sound like a crazy person or Jill think that Jonas was pitying him. A small part of him was very much worried for the man but he did kind of like him.
"Jonas, I don't even who this guy is how am I supposed to go telling his business?" Jill said after a beat, talking a little slow.
"Just promise," Jonas mumbled.
"Okay fine, I promise."
"Okay... You remember how I left the party that day. Well before all that I bumped into the guy at the bus stop or whatever and we exchanged numbers and stuff. Anyway, I had called him that night. I don't even know why I did, I just decided to call him up at eleven at night, but like... I kept hearing this noise in the background, like wind and cars so I asked him where he was and he told me he was at the bridge."
"Tell me this isn't going where I think it's going."
"He was upset because his dad basically disowned him and I ended up walking him home that night, that's why I left the party. I felt bad for him but I swear I wasn't just seeing him because of that. I mean he really needs someone to talk to and I wanted to be there but I genuinely think he's a good guy. He took me out the other night and we went to his place and I guess I consider him a friend but then he kissed me and I ended up turning him down and he confessed that he was trying to kill himself-"
"Jonas slow down."
Realising he needed to breath in Jonas shut up, nodded his head to himself before exhaling. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to ramble I just. I mean I like him but Jill he has so much going and he shouldn't have to add anything else onto that."
"Well nobody's asking you to swear an oath to him. If you really care about him all you have to do is be there when you can, it would probably mean a lot to him. And who knows, if he manages to work things out maybe you two could start getting to know each other better."
"Okay well. I also wanted to ask you if you think I should keep seeing him but after that I guess I don't need your advice."
"Nah you're a big boy, you can handle yourself. Since we're already on the phone let me tell you what happened with me and Timmy yesterday. I am this close to being done with him. This close."
"Hold on I think you better end the call and face time me for this one so when the moment comes you can see my face as I say I told you so to whatever you're about to tell me.
