(Released an hour early reason at the bottom)
I met Alec on my first run to the Crimsonbucks Café. I made an effort to know the area I lived in. If I was going to keep living, I needed to find a happy place as well as convenience stores, cafes, and other stores.
I had seen the Cafe on a lazy observation trek. The first time I went there I discovered the place had wifi, delicious coffee and food, and a relaxing environment. I decided it was my happy place. The day I met Alec I was going to Crimsonbucks just to drop in and relax for a bit.
I was almost there when the sky decided to cry. The rain came fast and hard, spewing giant droplets, drenching me. The weatherman had said "clear, sunny skies all week" but here I was dumb enough to believe the weather report.
I had just kept walking but now I stopped and looked up at the sky. I only felt content. I remember thinking I might get sick but it's worth it. Rain speaks to me I decided. I was still standing there like an idiot gaping at sky getting drenched when suddenly I was looking up at the sky and not getting wet anymore. I looked down and discovered a clear umbrella giving me shelter was held by a human. I almost jumped out of my skin but he was handsome and I was lost in a fog so I just smiled at him.
"I'm heading to Crimsonbucks Café. Would you care to join me?" I asked him in my foggy state. At first, his face was blank but then he smiled. I was shookith with myself as I realized what I'd said. I began to blush and I felt mad at myself. "I mean to thank you for giving me shelter, even though I enjoyed the rain a little bit, a-aah no not that I mind that you gave me shelter, thank you, nice umbrella by the way, I-I mean, no yeah thank you so much," I began to ramble, I paused took a quick breath before he could say anything and I said one coherent sentence "I'm thankful for you giving me shelter, I'm new to town, as a thank you do you want to grab something from the Crimsonbucks Café?" I say looking down.
"I was going to say yeah, a nice drink as a thank you sounds delightful, actually," he says and smiles. He starts to walk and so do I. We start to walk towards the cafe and then he pauses and looks at me with a very peculiar expression like excitement and he says "My names Alec by the way." and he smiles a bright beaming smile.
We get to the cafe and we just hit it off. We have some common interest that we talk about for a long time and then we talk about things we dislike. We spent a whole eleven hours just chatting in that little cafe. He told me that he is going to the Lightwood Arts Academy and University as well and that became a regular place we’d meet up and chill, sometimes I’d be doodling and working on my art pieces and he’d just watch and bring drinks. We went four years going to classes, texting, he would occasionally mother me, hanging out till the morrows come and gone, grabbing coffees, running errands, taking care for each other and grabbing lunch.
I never realized it but Jace and Alec never had time when all three of us could meet up, it wasn't odd to me though, maybe it should have been. Alec graduated before me and since we were graduating in the same class, I got to sit next to him. I also managed to invite Alice, Shadow, and Rosie.
The whole time I managed to ignore a lot but it bugged me that he and Jace never had time to hang out at the same time. Then graduation time came around. I would finally get to see my favorite people at the same time. I hoped.
