Jonas
Rolling his eyes at David Jonas grabbed his bowl of cereal and his phone and quickly rushed towards his room. Once inside he shut the door, set his bowl on his desk then proceeded to stand in front of the floor length mirror on the back of his bedroom door. He didn't have to leave till eight but he still wanted to get an outfit picked out early so he wouldn't have to worry about it later. No he wasn't anxious or eager, no nothing like that. He was just being practical. That's all.
Jonas was just about to open his closet when his phone lit up with a notification. Snatching it up fast he opened it, only to be met with disappointment. It was two Snapchat notifs, one fromJill, a lot earlier than expected, and the other from Liam.
Ignoring Jill, Jonas opened Liam's message. It was a simple: hey, wyd
Nothing much, eating cereal. Jonas shot back. I got your message about the pop quiz. How is it a pop quiz if you guys already know about it?
Idek, I just know it's supposed to be sometime next week
The others weren't able to help??
No. I figured I'd ask you, you seem smart
I think you mean to say that Jill told you I don't know how to say no
Yeah, that too
Smh When you need the help?
Monday-ish
Alright, see you at library.
Liam was in Burns' technical science course and she was known to give pop quizzes almost weekly. Missing just one was the equivalent of missing a weeks worth of class. Jonas almost felt bad but then again Liam was the one who signed on for it.
Cool
Closing his phone Jonas went back to gawking at himself in the mirror. He couldn't remember his nose being that big or his butt being that flat. His last boyfriend seemed to like it though but that was his senior year of high school and now he's a sophomore in college...
Sighing Jonas turned back to his closet. He liked to think he had a good sense of fashion. Ugh, no way. He wasn't asking Nick for help, he wasn't doing that to himself. Nick always had the best fashion sense out of him and David but Jonas had no doubt that Nick would make it a big deal and Jonas didn't want it to be a big deal. It wasn't a big deal either, just dinner between more friends. Friends who flirted and bumped into each other every day at the bus stop. To think that a few days ago the most the two men had ever said to one another was sorry whenever they stepped on each other's toes and now they were we're going out to eat together.
You know what, Jonas was just gonna go with a nice sweater and some jeans. If he could only find his white converse. He always kicked his shoes off next to his bed so they had to be under it. Jumping at the sound of his phone getting a notification though he hit back of his head against the rail on his way out from under. Rubbing his sore spot Jonas groaned aloud at Jill's name on his lock screen. It was just her mentioning him in her story.
Tossing his phone down onto his bed Jonas figured he oughta find something to preoccupy himself with until that night or else he'd drive himself crazy. There was no way he'd be able to focus on tv so he may as well find himself something else to do, or maybe someone to talk to.
Just then another notif popped up on his phone for some spam mail. He oughta talk to Jill about his views on college yet he told Sky. God was he stupid for doing that. He just wanted Schuyler to stay on the line and for some reason he found the man easy to talk to. A part of him felt like he needed to keep him talking though, especially after what happened. Jonas could just look at him and tell that something was off about his crooked smile, that maybe he lied about why he was outside in the first place.
A knock sounded on Jonas door before Nick walked in not even waiting a good three seconds. The man looked... happy. A little to happy.
"David told you anyway huh," Jonas asked, returning his father's smile and letting himself be pulled into a small hug.
"Yes he did. The smartest thing that man's done since marrying me," Nick chuckled before taking a seat on the edge of the bed, "but that's not why I'm here."
Jonas looked at Nick's hand as his father patted the spot next to him before joining his side.
"Is everything okay with that friend of yours?" Nick asked, wrapping an arm around Jonas' shoulders. "You looked pretty worried last night. I apologize if I was a little overbearing but from my understanding you were supposed to be staying at Jill's."
"It's fine, nothing's wrong he was just upset about something with his family and needed someone to talk to."
"Well do you need my help with anything. I'm praying you're not gonna wear whatever that is laying on the back of your chair," Nick said, gesturing towards the outfit that he'd picked out moments ago. "Come here, if you're on going date number two at least put some effort into it. What happened to those cute skinny jeans you had, the faded ones?"
"They're in the closet somewhere." Jonas and Nick got up, Jonas standing off to he side while Nick rifled through the closet.
"We are gonna make you look right. Now, what happened to your white shoes, we're putting you in red. And don't ask why, I just like the color and you never where it."
"I don't know, he doesn't look like a red kinda person," Jonas shrugged, shaking his head at the shirt his father grabbed.
"You sure?" Nick raised a brow at him, poised to take a hanger out of the closet.
"He wears a lot of blue when I run into him at the bus stop." Jonas didn't know why he was just now noticing that or why he cared for that matter but Sky did wear a lot of blue much like himself. Hell a lot of people like blue though so that may be why he came to the conclusion. "Yeah, we should do blue."
Giving him a look Nick said, "Alright, blue it is."
"Yeah." Jonas nodded, hugging himself as his father grabbed the faded jeans out the back of the closet. He was right, the faded jeans did look better.
