It was a miracle that her father didn’t catch her sneaking back in the house with all the noise she made climbing up to her bedroom window. Normally it wasn’t such a difficult task but boy were her legs exhausted from all that running. And her heart was still pounding even as she threw herself on her bed, so tired and yet so excited. Despite all that transpired, Shilo managed to fall asleep, lulling herself into a blissful sleep.
So much so that her father had to practically drag her out of bed to get her to wake up.
“Too… Early…” Shilo mumbled while lying her head on the counter, slouching forward on the stool in the kitchen. While she was still trying to wake herself, Shilo managed to dress to impress for this special day. Armed with a stunning jacket and her favorite boots Shilo looked like a professional witch. Though her hair was a magnificent disaster.
“Come on, Shi, we’re running late. Stop slouching.” Her father walked up behind her and began to gently brush the hair flowing down her back. She sighed as she eventually pulled herself together, sitting up straight as her father tended to the mess that was her hair.
“We’re not late. We’re going to get there early at this rate.” The meeting wasn’t meant to be this early, but her father was desperate to be there on time. It wasn’t just Shilo who was excited to see The Council.
“There. You look perfect!” Shilo ran her fingers through her hair, impressed that he managed to tame her hair. Now she looked nice and neat.
“Thanks. I guess we should go now.”
Hopping off her stool, the pair walked out of the house and towards the town square.
