Seems like it's been ages since the very first Lu Han's sketch, that was this colorful one, followed by the very first Randy, holding the sword at his left. But as you can see, some things like this flirty gaze, are always the same.
These two born as pirate and merman on summer about two years ago (we already had them but in a different way you might be able to know in the future). We were playing on the beach, rolling in the seashore, and started with the joke about a lil merman version of Lu Han. Then, that very night, our verbosity worked its magic and a port and a cove germinated. The story had just started but we didn't expect what it was about to come.
This Lu Han was so small compared to the final one, we also have his exact length right now. He had shorter and darker hair and even his skin was less translucent. Randy for this part, was a bit more western, with this occidental-ship rudder. And I (Chris) obsess with noses, can say that he had less generous nose, as well as the final Lu Han's is more round.
But instead, nothing to say about their personality... They're always be the two little assholes you recently met. They're always growing up, developing reasons to be as they are, getting depth, but with a very solid base we already know as if they were our real sons. They answer our questions about their opinions by themselves even before we have the opportunity to ask.
EDIT: Now that he has officially appeared in the story, we can remove the sticker... SAY HI TO FRED!
A multiverse taking place in different ages and scenarios with a common denominator: the two main characters. Even typical stories like merman and pirate meeting could've a different development. Currently publishing Teal Sail: piracy in Guangdong, 1781, and Yellow Wars: mafias in San Francisco, 1925.
An Hindu-origin pirate meets a Chinese merman in Guangdong during the Chinese piracy golden era in 1781. Everything could be just a topic, but they're all but common people!
What would a pirate do if a dark legend spread throughout the port, about a creature that rip off faces and eat souls with its beauty and soft voice, reached his ears while he’s carrying more wine than blood in his veins? Go and check it out by himself, of course. But what could’ve ended in disaster turns into a cultural exchange between a curious corsair and even more curious merman, in equal parts puzzled and fascinated with each other. The beginning of a close friendship as unlikely as dangerous for both of them, on a stage full off hungry pirates, abyssal creatures, vengeful crabs and mysterious magic throughout the South China Sea where they’ll forced to save each other’s bacon.
