West and General Cornwallis stood at attention as Winter walked in. She saluted them back allowing them to lower their hand.
"General Winter ma'am. I was just about to punish Lt. West here. You came just in time" Cornwallis said smirking.
Cornwallis opened a folder and begin to read West charges.
"Ahem...Lt. Connor West. You left the fort unauthorized to embark on an unauthorized mission into the fallen city of North Lake. You put your men and your self in danger and using DCU vehicles without permission. How do you plead?"
"guilty sir," West replied.
"Very well, then as your commandin-....." Cornwallis was saying before Winter butted in.
"Hold on general. I also got something to say" Winter said as she opens her folder. "Lt. Connor West....stand at attention".
West went to attention as ordered.
"Lt.West, you brought back 9 fallen DCUs personnel so they can have a proper burial. You lost no men or damages any DCU properties. You went out of your way to help your fellow human and for that, I the commanding officer of Fort. Lockhart, representative of the DCU pardon you of your all charges and award you the Distinguished Service Cross" She said as she hands West a box with the metal inside.
West took the box and saluted.
'Thank you, ma'am. It's an honor to be awarded this"
Cornwallis was speechless and jaw dropped. Cornwallis tightens his fist and bit his lips as he tries to not blow his top.
Winter saluted West and dismissed him.
"Now go and return to your unit."
