The sun was already beginning to set by the times the choppers returned to Fort. Lockhart.
Medics and doctors were standing by the helipad as they landed. As soon as the choppers opened the hatch, the medics and doctors rushed in to help those who are wounded.
Anna helped Voren exit the chopper and brought him to back to his unit tent. She sat him down on a nearby bench and sat next to him. She gentle pulled Voren head to her shoulder so he can rest, Voren willingly rests his head on her. Anna comforted him the best she could but Voren hardly talked or react.
Anna and Voren were soon joined by the other members of his squad that were able to walk and move by themselves.
Minutes pass by as Voren and Anna sat with his squad. A voice Voren recognized caught his ears as he raises his head from Anna's shoulder.
From the distances, Voren could make out Lt. West walking with some men.
"I want the company to be prep and ready in 15 mins gentlemen," Lt. West said to his squad leaders as they followed him.
Voren eyes lighted up in rage as he stood up and walked toward West. His paces grew faster and faster as before long Voren was running toward West.
"West!, " Voren shouted as he gets closer getting Lt. West attention.
"Are you going back out there? Take me with you!" Voren demanded.
"Those freaks are going to pay for what they did. Take me with you!" Voren continued as he clenches his hands into a fist.
Lt. West took a good look at Voren before shaking his head.
'Sorry kid but no can do. You're in no condition to go back out there" West replied.
"Why?! Those things killed my brothers and sisters! I won't rest till I do the same to them!" Voren shouted at West, not caring that he was making a scene.
"And that is exactly why I am not taking you! This is a war Voren! People died every day. We kill them...they kill us. That how it's work. It is an endless cycle until one side wipes out the other side!" West shouted back at Voren.
"I don't need some hothead brat with revenge on his mind on the battlefield risking his life and my men live!"
Voren lowers his head as he bit his lips trying to calm down. Voren eyes start to water up again as the feeling of uselessness overcome him once more.
West let out a sigh as he placed a hand on Voren shoulder.
"I lost friends and families in the war too kid. It hurt and painful, but you just can't be rushing off out there before you are ready" West said softly.
"You just stay here and recover okay? I'm not going out there to fight. I am going to bring our fallen brothers and sisters home"
"You are?" Voren asked as he looked up and wipes his eyes.
"You bet I am," West said smiling. "Don't worry kid, I will get them home and give them the resting place they deserve."
"Sir! The Rangers are ready to move on your orders" one of West sergeant stated as he waits for orders.
"Very well sergeant, let's roll," West said as he nods to the sergeant. They both head to an APC where West take the front seat as the sergeant take the driver seat.
West placed a headset on and address his Rangers.
"Alright Raiders. You all know why we are here. We left some of your brethren out there, and we need to get them back. Cause who are we?"
"Rangers! Rangers! Rangers!" West's Rangers unit shouted from the others vehicles.
"And what do Rangers do?" West shouted back louder.
"Rangers lead the way" The Rangers unit shouted and cheer.
And with that West and his 107th Rangers Unit aka "The Crimson Raiders" headed out.
