I'm not entirely certain where the furry vs gamer war started... Nor do I have the patience to search the internet for the cause. The furry vs gamer war, as I believe, a meme on TikTok where a gamer or fur posts something and gets a duet from the other.
I personally have made only one furry vs gamer post on TikTok just to see people's reaction to it. The responses were few, but rather positive. It consisted of a man in a pea soup sort of green colored cap and coat with a thick mustache. He says "are ya here to register" and I, on the left, nod. "Okay, show me whatcha got." Then I put on a fursuit head and the man on the right responds with "whoa, I haven't seen anything like that in a long time. You'll fit in with the boys."
I wasn't attempting to be funny, I merely wanted to see how people would feel about a gamer TikTok being used as furry support. It got quite a few likes despite my never posting. There were no hateful comments and no duets. Fairly positive.
Now speaking of a furry gamer, Sonic Fox, who is best ESports player of the year, decided to ruin his acceptance speech. The fact that he was a fur-gamer (I will now refer to them as such) could've given him the chance to bridge the gap between the divided nations and talk about how videogames unite us all.
But no. He had to make it about politics. He said something about Republicans oppressing him (? I didn't bother listening to him) and then finished with something along the lines of "I'm black, I'm gay, and I'm a furry".
He tweeted about how he's been oppressed his whole life and how Republicans are bad (or something). Well, actually Sonic Fox won multiple fighting game championships at age 16 and got first prize. The reward for first prize? $90,000 USD. Sonic Fox is also 20 years old. He's been oppressed?
