Moat Nona's Chambers: Office
Quill ready to be used, resting idly by near awaiting parchment on a simple wooden desk as light streams through slightly parted curtains. The room was simple with only cases of books pressed against the walls that were merely for entertainment purposes, ranging from Historic torturing to poems and tales fantasizing about gods, life, and death. Few contained actual important texts such as: maps of worlds and their history, timelines, and a list of death descriptions that befell every soul that ever passed through that realm; biography included. This small area was Death's own private space to work in peace only thing though, she had barely begun her 'day'.
Soft Creak "Thank you Shemi for informing me about this incident, I will see that this mistake won't happen again. Now if you will, I have important documents to take care of and I would rather not fall behind on them before the next meeting takes place." Lady Death bid Shemi away as she closed the door softly. Assuring that she was completely alone, she gave a sigh as she massaged her head still suffering from over usage of magic the previous day. Still one to show affection despite what some may think, she continued to expand her powers to prevent purposeful harm among those residing in this realm. Calling forth a wisp, she made towards her desk. Grasping the wisp with care, she urged it to possess the quill and stain the parchment with her words. Sitting leisurely in the chair one leg crossed against the other and leaning on her elbow, she appears out the window upon the landscape pondering if Mr. Gon had delivered the basket to the young demon Mr. Bortis.
After some time has passed, and numerous papers completed, though there were still plenty left over, she told the wisp to stop and called forth a magical tool. A small flat rectangular onyx crystal that was deck with ruby and sapphire jewels on the back with an emerald cut diamond shape in the center. The front smooth from any scratches or dirt as she whispered an incantation images began to appear onto the crystal's surface. As the picture became clearer, she saw that the last soul she checked up was still attending to its duties and being contempt with its existence. Reaching into the top drawer of the desk, she pulled out a glowing lavender soul orb from a small velvet pouch. Squeezing gently, converting it into a jewel to replace the emerald on the back. Any soul jewel placed in upon that crystal in that spot reveals not only their time alive but also where they are currently at the moment.
"Seek the owner of this soul and reveal to me their current actions." The screen blurred and swirled until color and figures came into view becoming clearer by the second. Death stared intently at the screen chuckling occasionally as she watched Murni's reactions whenever he answered a question: be it correct or wrong it was all amusing to her. She had yet told a single soul of his importance, all anyone knows is that he is to be trained and used for retrieve purposes. Naturally, they would be suspicious as to why such a job would require such skills and certain knowledge, after all others with the same job contain fewer skills than he would acquire during his training. The only thing that the job requires is stealth, patience, and knowledge to retrieve the soul and return as soon as it is captured. Ceasing her laughter when the topic of her position and very being came up.
"Hey, so I was wondering. Just how strong is Moat Nona compared to other gods? She doesn't seem all that strong though I know that she wields more power than all of us combine." Death watched with emancipation wondering if she will receive praise or scorn but seeing how this hydra can be too intelligent for its own good, she could only ponder his next choice of words.
He fretted for a bit peering in all directions, questioning himself if he should answer when the demon voiced his concerns. "If you don't know its all right, I can probably ask someone else. Or I could of course, ask her directly if she is willing." His innocent face as he expressed concern could not mask his twitching lips as they struggle not to climb up his face. The reptilian's angered face as she saw fire lit in his eyes sent the mistress of death spiraling into laughter as watched Hydra spout out words of disrespect and insolence. It was not until he was huffing still seething in anger that she finally quit opting to see how his soul is fairing. The two souls burned inside their hosts expressing their inner most truths that they themselves have trouble expressing. The silver one, that burns inside of Hydra, is but a small proportion that they all share, burned with much ferocity and power that despite its size it seemed willing to burn its host out of anger. Yet, there was a hint of intrigue about his new students mindset, letting it settle before continuing to faux anger. The demon on the other hand, his soul glittered of a somber memory. Of what, she does not know only that he is probably reminiscing about his life before all this.
Poor soul, he believed that what they showed him was out of tough love pushing him to stronger. If only he knew that they were just trying to make his death more plausible because of his own weakness, and that his resilience only angered them more. Well who could blame them after all, who would want a weak heir when the second born is so much stronger.
Pushing those thoughts aside for now she listened intently to Hydra's words.
"If you must know, you are correct to assume that is more powerful than us and that her strength is considerably lacking than that of a few gods such as the Holy Lord and Lord Lucifer or Satan if you must. Had it not been for her merciful consideration of those waiting for love ones or wanting to accept them being dead first, she would rival the powers of those two. The power to Create versus Change versus the power to END that in simple terms is what it all comes down to if they were to fight."
"If that is true, then would she keep all these souls here instead of continuously using her magic, so she could be powerful?" It was a simple question, innocent really but to have a mindset like that is unnerving at best. Giving the demon a sadden sidelong glance he asked in such a low voice that it was barely above a whisper, "Why do you think she does that? If you were in her position what would you do?"
The question honestly shocked Murni, never had anyone during his time of being alive ever asked him what he would do if he had the power. Choosing instead to belittle him and taut his rather lack of power with statements that drove him to be stronger but to no avail as he died before he could show them. He pondered the thought for only a minute more as every being who watched with waited breath, that is had they would have had they no need for oxygen. Moat Nona for part her part watched as he already came to a conclusion but struggled to word it. Curiously, he appeared calm though a touch a sadness became very clear in his soul.
"She would be lonely without anyone to converse with as they would only last not more than a mere glance. Still if I were her, I would still do that. Casting away my own happiness so that I may be acknowledge by those who once have thought less of me and meeting me on equal footing. Only then would they welcome me without scorn and abandons. I would choose to be lonely but powerful. Though I might leave a few that would not be constantly draining."
The demon's colors show at last, his childish persona were grating on our nerves. It is unnatural for a demon to be so; I can now watch him without falling for it. His mindset is saddening but still holds a demon's thought process that it might all be part of an act. For now, I have to continue as if I do not suspect him.
Hydra continued the banter only a moment more before he began to retell the makings of the very realm, which they stand upon and it is of great importance to the very fabric of the life cycle. While doing so Moat Nona stared in awe shock, her vibrant oil eyes glowed faintly toxic green as she played with Murni's words in her mind. She closed her eyes the moment her body became wracked with giddiness and placed the stone down least risking its demise by falling. She knew that he would be fun but his very notation of power is phenomenal and just thinking of what she lays in store for him to mold him into her ideal image of the perfect servant. Chuckling to herself to ease the built up excited energy out of her system; she sighed one last time before placing the crystal away and returned to work.
Knock knock The door opened to the classroom in which currently held Murni and Hydra, reviewing the written form of knowledge, when another Hydra walked in.
"Violet scaled and strong willed~ Cover ye heads and wield ye shields~ It'll all be for naught as I come slaughter ye down~" In strolled a violet hydra looking very pleased for his disruption only to smacked at the back of his head by a slender jade green scaled hand non too gently.
"Oh quit with your song you tone death mongrel." A feminine green hydra walked in after pushing the violet one out the way. It was the twins though they appear to be nothing alike, their existence came around the same time. Since then they had be nicknamed, 'The Twins' must to their frustrations.
"Oh if it is The Twins. Is it time already for you to demonstrate your ability to actually teach someone without them dying or being dismembered." This clearly irked them as they glowered hatefully at him. "It was only one time and beside he's already dead so no harm done."
Chuckling at their expense, the cobalt hydra turned towards Murni to bid him a good day before walking towards the twins and grasping their clawed hands. The moment their hands parted the twins had a perplexed look upon their face as if wondering what to make of the demon before them.
"So~ want to get started and head to combat?" The violent hydra asked his companion, when he had received an eye-roll and a nod he grinned. It was close to a feral smirk with something wild behind his reptilian eyes for the whole air in the room seem to vanish for a moment. The exact moment that the two hydras grabbed Murni and dragged along in a brisk fashion that left no room for questions. Before he knew it, he was in another courtyard this time no dirt nor trees; only stacks of different weaponry and stone covered ground. Dropping him the two turned towards the stacks of weapons, each pulling out one differ from the other. The female revealed a smooth staff wrapped at the center and two/fifths from the end. The male on the other hand drew a Gladius blade, its lethal body littered by scars of battles pass only seems to entice its threatening appeal rather than worn and old. In sync, the twins swung their chosen weapons lazily around testing the balance and efficacy after a long absence of usage. Deciding that they were well fit for the training, the twin hydras turned towards the demon guiding through all the ranges of weaponry.
"There are weapons of all kinds ranging from long range to close range and even dual weapons if you so choose. For now just pick a weapon that you know how to handle and we shall be under way." The green hydra explained allowing Murni to rummage through the racks. Only able to recognized a handful of the weapons, he suspects that the rest were from places he never traveled to as he examined a wheel shaped weapon lined with sharp bladed edges. After examining each item carefully, he came down to decide between two different pieces of steel. One was a dulled-down common elongated blade modeled after the European standard style sword and a slightly curved medium length dagger, a Janbiya, that seen less usage and must better days. Though the Janbiya seemed to call to him, Murni recalls his family ridicule those who bare a dagger in a fight against a sword and how the outcome had already been decided before the fight even begun. So he with a regrettable heart, choose the sword over the janbiya and could not help but let out a little sigh as he did so. This did not go unnoticed by the twins as they were watching him with analytical stares. They exchanged a look before announcing that they were to spar in the courtyard while he cleaned and prep his weapon for combat.
"Hey you saw that right? The dagger, the same one that he used. Do you realize what this means? It mean-"
"I know what it may mean, it doesn't necessary mean that it has to be."
"Are you serious!? We all know what happened last time that dagger was used and even a crazy fool like me knows when it is best to avoid chances that will wipe out my existence."
"So you do agree that you are a crazy fool." It came off as a joke to steer the conversation in another direction but her male self refused to be dissuade. He shot her a dirty look to which she returned with a sigh of her own.
"Regardless of the possibility, Mistress had already given the order the train him to the best of our ability."
"Bu-"
"That does not mean we don't keep an eye out for him and watch his every move without him suspecting our movement. Remember, the moment he even dares try to disobey or raise a blade against us," she paused to look over her shoulder to watch the demon sharpening the blade with chilling skill to match his suddenly emotionless eyes on his usually expressive open face. She turned back to her opponent, whose guard was down as he waited patiently for her to continue, with the sweep of her staff landed him on his back and strike the ground near inches from his head before saying, "We will simply kill him and start again with another more submissive and obedient student." The message was said in such a low whisper that if they weren't close he wouldn't have heard her. Processing her words, he grinned and let out a breathy laugh before being allowed to get up. He took one look at the demon who was at the ready with the sword, that once shabby blade but now seemed to able to cut a head clean off ones shoulders.
