After twenty minutes of passing through the city, the carriage made it to the eastern gate of the city. Sara and Frey then existed out of the carriage. Saul was utterly confused but followed them.
“What’s going on?” Saul asked.
“We have to go the rest of the way without the carriage.” Sara replied.
"The terrain is a bit ruff for the carriage to handle.” Frey implied.
“So we’re going the rest of the way there by foot?” Saul asked again.
“Not exactly.” Sara said.
The guards then opened the gates. Sara and Frey then walked away from each other. Saul was more confused about what they are doing. Frey and Sara then reach their hand out as a magic sigil formed from hands as it got bigger and bigger. Then a burst of flame came out of the sigils as two giant black stallion horses. Both of them had unique burning fiery mane on them. Sara’s had a bight orange in its in her flame and a light blue at the outer part of the flames while it was similar but with black and red instead. Both of them then climbed up on their horses.
“climb up!” Frey shout.
“Uuhhh won’t their flames burn me to a chirp?” Saul asked.
“Not as long as you don’t agitate them.” Sara implied.
Saul then slowly approaches both of the horses as he was intimidated by their size. Sara’s horse then leans closer to Saul and sniffs his scent as Frey’s horse does the same. Still frightened, but he kept his cool, Saul then reaches his hand out to both of the horse but slowly. He didn’t want to agitate them but then horse then lean their heads towards Saul’s hand and accepted him as an acquaintance.
“Sebastian’s taking a liking to you.” Frey exclaimed.
“So does Shyooshi,” Sara said. Frey then offers Saul a hand up on his horse. Saul then grabs Frey’s hand and was pull upwards onto Frey’s horse.
“Alright, onward Shyooshi!” Sara exclaimed as they head full speed eastward while Saul holds onto Frey. Saul could not believe that riding on the back on the horse makes him feel like he’s on top of the world. Frey smiled seeing how Saul is enjoying himself but then he sees something in the distance.
“Sara!” Frey yells.
“I see them.” Sara yells back.
“What’s going on?” Saul asked.
“It looks like they’re robbing the shipment early.” Frey yelled.
“Stay here with Sebastian. We’ll take care of them!” Frey then jumped off of his horse along with Sara and charge towards the bandits robbing the cargo hold.
Frey starts by shoot the ones surrounding the cargo while Sara shoots with her bow and icy tip arrows at the other. When the arrows hit on some of the robber’s parts of their bodies frozen instantly. Sara then rushes in and kicks the frozen body parts as they broke instantly. The robbers screamed in pain as parts of their limbs were shattered like glass. Frey was dodging and shooting every bandit in sight. Saul was only distanced away but he still can see the carnage clear as day. He thought witnessing them waste wolves like no tomorrow was enough but other demons are just crazy. They almost seem like they’re enjoying it. Suddenly, Saul was grabbed from behind and his mouth was covered so he couldn’t scream.
“DROP YOUR WEAPONS!” one of the bandits shouted. The fighting stopped as everyone sees Saul held captive pointing a gun at Saul’s head.
“Either you drop your weapons now, or you can say goodbye to the boy here! This cargo now belongs to Desperado!” the bandit shouted.
Sara's eyes filled with anger for the sight of seeing Saul held like that.
“I’m counting to 3 and if you don’t drop your weapons and leave, the boy dies. 1. 2.3-“
Saul then quickly headbutts the bandit with the back of his head. Sara saw an opportunity and quickly draw the bandit with her arrow. The bandit stumbled back as the arrow struck through the bandit’s eyes. Saul then grabs his gun back as he reloads it. The bandit then pulls out the arrow but then realized his face was still being taken over by the arrow. The bandit’s face began to turn into but he quickly looks at Saul. He pulls out a knife and chargers toward Saul. He was planning on taking Saul with him to death. But Saul quickly then pulls his gun up and shoots the bandit’s head. The bandit’s head shattered and explodes its chunks everywhere and some land landed on Saul’s face. Saul then began to hyperventilating for killing his first demon native. He may not be human be he still felt like he killed another human being. The other bandits then turned their attention as they were furious that Saul killed one of their own. But before they could get anywhere near him, ice stalagmites pierced out of the ground and impaled every bandit that surround Saul. Saul looked away as when the stalagmite created a dust storm from coming out of the ground. But when the dust cleared, he witnessed the horror of seeing every last bandit impaled by the ice stalagmites high in the air. Then the stalagmites shattered as every corps rained down and some of them piled on to each other. Sara then walked towards Saul with a furious look on her face. Saul crawled back in terror until he was back into a tree as Sara drew closer and closer. Saul picked himself up but then Sara slammed her arm next to Saul’s head.
“I…. I didn’t mean to….he was .. I….he-” Saul was then silenced when Sara place her finger over Saul’s mouth.
“ssshhh… stay here. I’ll take care of the rest. Don’t. move. From here.” Sara whispers.
Saul nodded his head as his emotions were swelling up inside of him. She then removed her hand from his mouth and covered Saul with an ice wall around him. She then turns her attention to the remaining bandits. Sara shifted her eye color from soft blue to bloody red as her mascara forms around her eyes. The rest of the bandits tried to run but a wall of fire was ignited and Frey was standing of their escape. His mascara also started to form around his eyes as he pulls out a katana sword from his jacket. Saul was still scared of Sara’s menacing look but then he snaps out of it until he hears screaming. He barely sees through the ice, but all he could see is two figures mowing down every last bandit survivor. Terrified, Saul slowly closes his eyes and covers his ears to avoid the bandit’s screams of death. But it was no use, he could still hear clear as day. But suddenly, it was quiet, the screaming stopped. He pulls his hands away from his ears and opens his eyes. He sees that parts of the ice shell have some splattered bloodstain. Still afraid, he quietly gets back up until he sees a shadow hand print on the ice. The hand gave an orange glow as the ice began to melt around him. As the ice melted completely, Sara and Frey were on the other side waiting for him.
“Come on, let’s get this cargo back to my cousin.” She said while smiling.
She then places her hand on his face and wipes his tears away. He gave a soft smile but then tries to look behind and he sees a glimpse of the carnage left behind but then Sara covered his eyes.
“Nope! You ain’t old enough to see that.” Sara said.
“Hey!” Saul yell. Sara then took off her jacket and wraps it around Saul’s head then carries him.
“Ew, why is it wet?” Saul asked.
“The less you know the better.” Sara said as she tosses him onto the cargo wagon.
But when Saul was tossed into the wagon, she heard a lot of clanging noises. She then hopped onto the wagon and sees a lot of heavy materials. Some of them were gold, platinum, and steel.
“Toys huh?” Sara said.
Half an hour later, Sara and Frey pulled the wagon back to the city using their horse. Sara kicks the front doors open and makes her way up to Kimberly’s office.
“Oh, back already? How did it go?” Kimberly asked as she’s grooming a doll.
“Your toys have arrived alright. But you never did say about them being THIS HEAVY!” Sara yells as she throws a block of gold into her desk as it snaps in half. However, Kimberly wasn’t fazed by it.
“Oh, that’s my other delivery.” Kimberly said with a blank face. However, Sara beyond angry.
“Kimberly! Are smuggling metal ores through the city?” Sara asked as she’s holding her anger back.
“Not exactly. Those are for sale on the market. And the western city just bought those about a week ago. I’m just the middle man so to speak. And some of them are for me.” Kimberly replied.
“Why do you need this many?” Sara asked furiously.
“it’s not me that needs them. It’s Celina. Says she got some sort of project for the city. But what that is I couldn’t tell you that much. She didn’t even tell me anything about it either. If you want any details about it go ask her. That is of course if she’s not busy.” Kimberly said.
“Well, until I know more about this, no more orders. Kimberly this is serious. The last thing we need is getting robbed by thieves and bandits.” Sara said. She then turned away but then was stopped when Kimberly spoke up.
“Hey, that boy you brought in… you know as well I do it’s dangerous to keep him around, right? If anything, he should stay out of this.” Kimberly said.
"He knows way too much now. He was on the verge of death by our hand, yet he chose to join us. He is interesting, but there’s a bigger question of my mind.” Sara answer.
“And what’s that?” Kimberly asked.
“Nun- yah” Sara said.
“What?” Kimberly asks.
“Nun yah fucking business.” Sara replied.
She then slams the door behind her and makes her way back to the front entrance. “Language.” Kimberly said as she continues to groom her doll with a trembling feeling. However, she was lucky Sara didn’t go full-on beast mode on her. Sara then jumped on top of her horse and makes her way back to her manor along with Frey and Saul. However, the cargo still really bothered her a lot. This was the last thing she needed right now. First remaining bandits and mercenaries are robbing the south city’s cargo and now one of her family members is planning something. A few minutes later, Sara was in the dining hall drinking some tea with a side of cookies on a small table.
“Room for two?” Frey asked.
“Help yourself.” Sara said as she munches on some cookies. Frey then pulls up a chair and have some as well.
“So, what’s the next step?” Frey asked.
“I don’t know. But for now, I sent in a request to head of security of the city that no more order except for mandatory supplies cannot go through the city without my permission. I don’t know what Celina’s up too but she’s the last person to deal with.” Sara replied.
“Well at least that’s out of the way for now. But I have a proposition to make.” Frey said.
“What do you mean?” Sara asked.
“It’s been like what, one day since he joined us and yet he doesn’t know how to defend for himself. He got one kill, but it’s not enough for him if he gets captured or left on his own.” Frey said.
“What are you insisting on?” Sara asked.
“I’d say we start training him. Asap.” Frey replies.
“Of course, he needs to go through the basics before he gets into the real stuff. I’ll start him off with basic arms combat. While you could have the range weaponry.” Frey implies.
“What about the others? Do you think they want in on this?” Sara asked.
“That’s up to them. Speaking of which, where is that short stack.” Frey asks. Suddenly there was sudden clang noise outside of the hallway. Sara and Frey rushed over and sees Saul crushed by a suit of armor with the jacket still covering his head.
“Oh, there he is.” Frey said
"A LITTLE HELP PLEASE!" Saul yelled.
They both giggled and helped him and remove the jacket on his head.
"Oh my god, I could barely even breath through that." Saul exclaims. "what the hell was that jacket covered in any way?" he asked.
Frey and Sara said nothing but turned away started laughing to themselves.
"What?!" Saul yells.
"Kiddo you might want to look into a mirror to find out." Frey said.
Saul then picked up the shield and used it as a mirror and sees that his whole face is covered in blood and he looked like a tomato.
"OH COME ON! THAT'S NOT FUNNY!" Saul yelled.
"Honestly it is. oh, this made my day! Go take a shower in one of the bathrooms. I'm sure you can wash it off by then tomato boy!" she said while still laughing.
Saul growled and stomps his way to the nearest bathroom and began washing his face.
