Delilah had always loved the snow; she loved to hear the snow crunch under her feet, making snow people and animals, having snowball fights and lying in the snow to make angels. The snowy days brought back memories of her life as a child playing in the snow with her older brother and his best friend. Now the three for forbidden from seeing each other for nearly three years. They could talk on the phone all they want but visiting one another was strictly prohibited. She pulled out her iphone and took pictures of the world around her.
Delilah: Another beautiful day in Demonic witchcraft housing Colorado.
She smiled as she hit send to Thomas and Ian. She missed being with the two during this time of year. She knew her teacher and caretaker wouldn’t allow her to leave to be with them, but she could only hope. She felt herself fall backwards into the snow, watching the grey sky rain down the white flakes onto her. She heard her phone ring the text tone she setup for her brother Thomas.
Thomas: Oh wow, what a pretty sight. Chicago has its own charm during this time of year. Managed to decorate the house this year!
Under the text was Thomas’ one bedroom shack of a house, lit up with colorful lights and a blow up Santa and his trusted reindeer, next to it a snowman that her brother made with a sign saying ‘North Poll of Bust’. Delilah laughed at the sight. Her phone dinged with a text from Ian.
Ian: I wish it snowed here in Cali, me and Drewy are making the most of it. Just finished decorating the house.
Right under it was a picture of Ian, Grim in his cat form, and Andrew, smiling as they sat on the couch. Behind them was the tree, still standing. Delilah was impressed with Grim holding back his more feline instinct to mess with it.
“Look like Ian and Thomas are having a nice Christmas. Demons don’t really celebrate Christmas.” She said to herself. She put her phone away and kept lying there, not minding her pants getting soak from the snow melting under her. She moved her arms and legs until a snow angel was made from her lying in the snow. She used a levitation spell to pick herself up. When she spun around she saw how lonely it was without her friends by her side. She took a picture of it and sent it to them.
Delilah: A lone snow angel.
Ian: Wish I was there, would give that angel a friend.
Thomas: And an older brother. Miss you sis.
Delilah: Miss you guys too.
She put her phone away as she walked off. Following behind her was a small army of stuff animals, she no longer noticed her enchanted toys following behind her. They had mimicked their masters movement, each of them had fallen onto the ground and made small snow angels. She only noticed when one ran up and bumped into her leg.
“Huh, what’s up?” She picked up the rabbit and turned to see the army right behind her and a dozen small snow angels made from stuff animals. “I may be without the people I love but I’m not alone, not really.” She smiled as she went to the house. She needed to dry out her toys and change into dry pants as she now noticed her jeans were soaked on the back.
