"Ha ha, that was close, guess all that training did pay off in the end." Murni laughed as he saw how close he was to being crushed. Standing up to stretch out his cramped muscles, he saw that the fallen stalactite was 3 feet tall and about 2 feet wide. Seeing on how it would give a boost on to the ledge near the opening, he tried to move it except that he was too weak to even budge it. Seeing no other option, due to the ledge being too high to reach, he climbed on up and jumped. Latching on to the side of the cavern, he put all he could into moving up towards the ledge; sadly before he could even move a muscle the rocks gave loose under his hands causing him to fall backwards. The fall knocked the breathe out him leaving him a gasping mess on the floor.
"Huff...*cough*... that could've gone a bit better.*cough*" Murni wheezed as he rolled to the side using a stalagmite to help prop himself up to a kneeling position. Taking a moment to catch his breath.
He started to move back to the fallen stalactite and try again. I may be down now but I'm not giving up any time soon, what would my family say if they saw me like this. He kept trying, each time getting farther than the last. On his tenth try his body was sore and breathing became excruciating harder with each movement, yet he held fast and continued on. This time he came so close to the ledge all he had to do was reach out and grab it, unfortunate that the rocks decided to crumble; however, being stubborn as he was he refused to let go even as he slid all the way to the ground cutting up his hands and possible breaking his fingers.
"Arg! No I can make it this time, I know I can! I just have to stop sliding!" Crack! With a soild thud the young demon fell on the ground hitting his head, with his moments of conscious quickly slipping fast he croaked out his remorse, "I was so close, if only i wasn't so weak *sniff*... they we're right about me I don't deserve to belong in such a family if I can't even get myself out of a hole." His eyes filling with tears, slowly he raised his arm to cover his face not even caring if blood got onto his face or not as, he drifted into unconscious with injured self-worth.
*Sigh* "You fool if only you use your head and not depend so much on brute strength... or rather lack of." It was the figure from before, dressed in black, covered in shadows as they descended to where the broken demon lay. Kneeling by the young demon and gently moving them into a more comfortable position so they may tend to their body. Moving his arm, the figure saw a close look of Murni's face streaked in dried tears and hurt danced on his face. Slowly the figure removed bandages and food from their cloak and laid them to the side. Lifting their hood, a small sad smile ghosting their features can be seen, "Hush young one, no need to cry so, you are worth and capable of more than you know otherwise I wouldn't waste so much time on you. Now time to tend to those 'wounds' or else you just might get wise and figure out where you are or what state you're in." After tending to Murni, the figure ascended back to the opening before turning back and said a simple phrase, "Welcome to the Underworld Murni Bortis, I hope you find that the underworld is an exciting place once you wake and leave here." With that they left with the seemingly charming words hanging in the air in a golden smoke waiting for the young demon to wake.
