I opened my eyes. At least, I think they were open. There was nothing but darkness around me and my other senses were fogged. I thought I heard shuffling on either side of me, but I wasn't sure. My heart beat irregularly and my head pounded along. Suddenly, there was a sound like an opening door. Footsteps circled around me echoing oddly. A few clicks sounded on one side, and the sound of static came from in front of me. A shriek filled the room. I flinched, but the sound was dulled, as if coming through something. The following silence was filled by the throbbing of my head. Finally, someone spoke.
"Now, I expect you all know me." The voice was altered, inhuman. "As you can see behind me, I have a few hostages." Hostages? "Now, this time, I didn't go for someone as high profile. But, as you can see, there are quite a few." Quite a few? How many people were here? "I'd like all of you to know that this is the fault of one person, or maybe a few. I don't know, and that's the problem." The speaker sighed, and my quickly clearing head registered the sound of it echoing in a small space. "This whole thing is the result of someone letting poor little Anna Gray go. All i want is to know who did it. If they come forward, they're the only one that has to get hurt. However, the longer they wait, the more people die." I heard what sounded like a child's whimper to my left. "Every day that I don't get a confession... someone gets a lovely hole in their head." My body grew warm. I started shaking uncontrollably. My breath caught in my chest. Here I was, unable to move, unable to see, and someone wanted to kill me to learn who had crossed me. I missed the next part of the grand speech, but my attention was grabbed by their horrible, scratching laughter. "Stay tuned. This show isn't over yet." My head grew fuzzy again. I felt like I was breathing something other that air. I lost the strength to hold my head up and it fell forward. The last thing I heard was the door shut. Would I wake up?
