In the depths of the massive Tower of God, things were brewing. The creature with endless arms stood in front of a large cooking pot. The pot was a dark red and made from hardened clay. It stood in the center of the room; walls painted in dark purple blood. The blood of a race from a far-off planet rotted by the G O D. It mixed the empty pot with a whittled down stick. It longed for flesh and bone, to swing from the air like so many pieces of fresh meat. Something to make its utensils with, it would cook and eat as many little morsels fell into its pot. It just had to hunt them, bide its time in the depths of whatever horrors it had arisen, and wait, like a game of chess that it so loved to partake in.
The creature of endless arms gurgled, known by none as The Mystery Box Gentleman, its body was taller than any number of trees, stacked as high any could ever hope to be, larger even than the size of a mountain. Its face was obscured by a large top hat. It wore a pinstripe suit made from materials created by the God. It would not have to wait for long, as it smelled the scent of angels going about their lives, the god would deliver and it knew all it had to do was wait. It had faith in god and all that god did for it, it would be a fool to turn away from the food it was provided, given as if some offering to its eternal being.
It would be fed again soon, very soon, it could feel it in its very fingertips, the edges of its finely shaped and sharpened claws. Food was far and in-between and it would once again relish in the Feast.

Samael
____
Dummah gathered with Samael outside the Creation Flock camp. They were both in Defender Flock but there had been no alarm calls recently. “What do you think we should do about the new feather?” Dummah asked this as he sat under a tree, legs crossed.
Samael tapped his own chin, thinking, “The tower God had us build, we should get the others and go inside after we race him around it. We will mess up the inside, and blame it on him”
Dummah chuckled “Perfect”

Haniel
___
The next few hours found Haniel sitting back down and looking over tiredly at Lucifer who was laying there, on his side, facing away from them. Haniel didn’t notice everything that had gone on with everyone else, as the night thickened.
He realized the effect of whatever Luci had gone through had changed him the same way something had Dagiel. He saw the once long powder blue hair cut short, he was covered in dirt and his own blood from pulling the machine all day long. “Lord Brother Lucifer, why did God do this to you?” he asked as he reached over to touch the fragile body. When he got no response, he shook Lucifer’s shoulder a bit. He waited for a moment and when he got no reply he tried again. He wanted to know and if Lucifer could tell him he would keep trying. He shook him gently again, poking into his shoulder blades.
“Luci, answer me.” He asked again as he shook the angel a bit harder. He watched as the shoulders shifted, stiffening. The lithe body beneath the dirty robes moved away from his touch. He reached out again and began to shake him once more. His hand was gripping the older angel’s shoulder gently as he did so.
A pale white hand shot up to grab Haniel’s. “Do not, ever, call me Luci, you step above your station, I may be bound to this machine for crimes I did not commit, but God’s will be done, I will not be disrespected just because you are impatient…. I do not care if God hears, it can do nothing more to me down here than what has already been done. I fell in love with something other than God, satisfied now, whelp?”
The other angel gasped in shock, even though his own body was exhausted from the day’s work. His bones felt like earth had been piled on top of it with a million rocks laid across it. Even so he jumped back from Lucifer at that admission. “Lucifer! How could you love anyone or anything more than God?! How is that even possible?!” he was horrified, clamping his hand over his mouth as he did so. He’d listened to and mulled over Dagiel’s words for a long time, but even then, he had come to the conclusion that ignorance was bliss. That dying while toiling away for nothing for God was his purpose in life.
Lucifer, blinded eyes still bleeding from the spikes planted into his orbs inside the straps attached to his head, sat up slowly. Back still facing Haniel he growled. “Look around us Hani! Don’t you see what God is doing to us?!”
He nearly shrieked in frustration while waving his arms around. “Fewer and fewer of us are being born from God’s pus. It has reached the point that I had to do what I had to do.” Lucifer’s words cut into Haniel like a sharp rock to the gut, he frowned, not fully understanding. Suddenly, with something wet hitting him in the face, he sputtered, his gaze drifted down to look at it as it fell to the ground. Hani watched it roll back over to stop next to Lucifer.
It was round, the outer flesh was a deep blue color, the inner flesh a light red, he saw the place where Lucifer had taken a bite. The inside was a deep green color; He studied it from where he stood. It’s a fruit! he thought this frantically, but not just any fruit that’s-! “That’s… Lucifer, you ate from the God Tree?! Is that why God has done this to you?” Lucifer shook his head, his body twisting and turning as he moved to face Haniel.
He put his hands over his belly under the dirty white and grey dress that they all wore. “I decided to do what God has abandoned.” The languid stride of another approaching person shook Haniel from his perturbed shock. Dagiel, returning from the sea walked past them then. Haniel smiled at the unresponsive other and offered a wave.
“Hey Dag! Good water today?” he asked this even as he was internally freaking out at Lucifer’s admission.
“Oh yes, I found a lot of new things to create today, I just woke up though slept in the ocean for the first time, God’s power is truly a wonder-gull thing” He chuckled at his own joke, Haniel laughing nervously alongside him. “I’ll see you later Hani! I gotta go get the seaweed out of my hair.” He watched Dagiel as he poked to the long green strands that were sticking out of his long seafoam green hair.
Before he could comment, Dagiel was gone, having walked away and dove into the river that lay just past the camp. Lucifer cackled, turning in the direction of Haniel. It was funny, he saw without seeing, he could feel, the frantic look in the younger’s eyes. The affection that glowed in them for Dag was replaced by fear and worry, he could hear the shock in Haniel’s voice as the other spoke once more. The angel leader would have chuckled if the younger angel hadn’t been annoying him so.
“What is in your stomach Luci? What are you hiding? Why has God decided to punish you like this? Just kissing Mik should not be enough to get spikes in your eyes, your hair shorn like a sheep and your bones broken on a daily basis working that accursed steam powered machine! What is going on Lucifer?!” Taking a deep breath Lucifer spoke in a calm manner. He pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed.
This child insists on being a detective he thought sullenly. Lucifer’s voice was quiet as a mouse scurrying into mossy undergrowth. “Eating that fruit gave me a lower gender, as you know God created us with nothing between our legs, unlike the animals we create.” Lucifer took a breath as he quietly continued. His sightless, bleeding eyes facing away from where Haniel knew he could feel him. “I have decided to take on the lower portions of the female creature, which my senses are telling me is an Omega, in order to create a new gender, and to birth more of us.” He stared at Haniel, who looked at him in the greatest of confusion. “Fear not brother, one day you will find the one who makes you feel as though nothing can harm you so long as you are together. One day you will experience a love unlike that which you find in your blindness toward God. You will find that there really is something else out there that matters. It will happen, one day.” he smiled in his direction. Perhaps that will soothe you. Make you understand my mission young one.
Haniel panicked at Lucifer’s words, and mumbled the commandants given to every angel. It was something he did when he was nervous, God punishment or not. “Thou shaHe was cut off as another set of angels called out to them. It was then that Haniel was joined by Cassiel, Gabriel, Azrael and Raphael, the brothers surrounded their eldest brother with mixed expressions of horror and shock on their faces. Gabriel was the next to speak, his face twisted into a frown. Lucifer inwardly groaned in agitation. For fuck’s sake, first the child freaks out and now these ones are about to place their opinions on the ground. I honestly am too tired for this. I just want to rest, foolish babies, all of them. Lucifer offered a small stiff smile that did not at all reach the edges of his face regardless.
“What will you do? What are we going to do Luci? Night after night Amaterasu is forced to watch us all die one by one. Day by day Apollo lays audience to our torture… I can see no hope for your offspring in this cruel world.” Lucifer shook his head; he knew he had been right to predetermine the annoyance level.
“Don’t call me Luci Gabriel. I will protect you all, even if it kills me. I will not allow God to destroy us, she wants us to make way for her newest project, humanity. Of which there are prototypes wandering the wilds, dressed in furs that murder us for food. We’ve all seen them. Even if a second rebellion must take place”
Everyone gasped at that declaration. As for Lucifer, he simply motioned out into the darkness he could always feel that surrounded the camp. Everyone else huddled a little closer together at that.
“Hey fellas!” Dagiel appeared behind the group, fresh from the ocean.
“Dagiel, we are trying to have a serious discussion. Your bitchy antics are not welcome here” Gabriel hissed at the ocean boy. The two took a long moment to glower at each other.
Dagiel flipped him off, “I’m the baddest bitch in this camp, aside from Luci-sama, fuck you wader slut.” They all muttered in agreement, Gabriel was really a whore at least in their eyes. He glared at all of them and stomped off. Dummah and his team returning to gather near the fire nodding in affirmation, his silent brother holding a broken shoulder.
“That guy is a bitch…:” Asta commented before he turned back to the group.
“Booyah!” Dagiel exclaimed proudly, yet again flipping a fuming Gabriel off.
“We all know that Gabriel is a bitch now please sit down Dag. Dummah, continue” Lucifer crossed his arms as he listened. I need to sleep; I doubt the other angels would understand that though. However, I need to know what happened, but at the same time, I can’t wait until they leave. Lucifer sighed inside of his mind while he waited for them to carry on. “So sorry Luci-sama!” Dagiel smiled and sat down happily.
So tired. I just want these fool babies out of my tent already I entertain them with these speeches, but I’m exhausted now. And Dummah…I would kill him if I wasn’t afraid of drawing attention to myself. Avenge my sweet arch baby Ana’s death...fuck. The desire is strong. The blue haired angel listened intently to Dummah even while he kept past anger at him at bay. He would not allow his own emotions to overtake him.
Two angels, Second Spheres, named Eriel and Vars, were among the group trying to help Lucifer sit down fully. Vars made sure there was no debris or anything obstructing the way back to the tent, and Eriel helped Lucifer adjust into a sitting position.
He was grateful to the two and confident the other angel would get his just reward for being such a horrible person. If he had to name it, it would be called karma. Karma was one of the angels of the new Axia that had been the first to die after all. He’d created a predator, a large fanged beast they called, a lion, Karma was very cruel to it. The lion had returned a few nights later and murdered Karma in his sleep.
He chuckled at the sad memory, but it wasn’t truly sad now, was it? “One of them attacked us on the way back, they took some of our brothers away… I heard the screams as we were running from their spears.” Dummah said this as his team huddled around Lucifer and everyone except Dummah helped him over to the fire. They eyed each other with hints of apprehension in each their gazes.
Haniel watched this with slight confusion but he chose to ignore it. Instead, he focused on looking at the ailing Lucifer. This was not something anyone was not used to after all. Things like this were commonplace. They happened every night and every day. The angels were affected by every death that occurred, though they did not bury their dead, they left their bodies to the beasts. If someone died in the camp, the survivors would leave and then return once the body had been stripped of flesh and muscle, the bones later used to make or repair tents. Abductions were common among the labor camp. Angels sometimes were found vanished from their beds in the middle of the night, blood smears left where they’d once lain. It happened this way every night, the angels looking over at the skeletal remains of one of their own.
Once, an angel had been killed in the seventh camp site, bony hand still gripping the tent it had tried to run back into before being killed by the proto-men. The body had been there for a few days but no one dared go near it. Lucifer had no idea why they kept the dead in the same places that they’d died. However, he knew that once someone died in the camp, instead of outside it, their flesh would be stripped and thrown out to the beasts. It was to keep them at bay for as long as possible. He realized after a while everyone else had gone.
He didn’t notice when another angel entered his tent.
