hi everyone! sorry this is so dark but to level out the dark beginning have a fun character fact:
Asa's parents were gamblers and they loved everything about gambling and the places it happened. Some of their favorite things were the magic shows and card tables at casinos which explains the boy's names. Asa was nicknamed 'asa spades' like 'ace of spades' and David--the brother that gets shot on the first page--was named after David Copperfield.
