SHIVA NATARAJA, the Lord of Dance, through his cosmic dance combined with the power of sacred fire, is responsible for the creation-and-destruction of all the things that exists in the material universe.

Everything in Nature comes and goes, goes up and down, begins and ends, in an eternal cycle of destruction and re-creation, which involves the totality of the Cosmos and constitutes the basis of all natural phenomena.

In this eternal life-and-death rhythm, SHIVA NATARAJA dances on the body of the demon Apasmāra, which symbolizes the ignorance of men, and which must be suppressed for the attainment of liberation (Moksha).

We humans live by forgetting that we are all mortals, and many of us lose our lives trying, even unscrupulously, to store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal.

Remember it: everyone in this material world will eventually die. Understand, however, that perishable is only the physical body. Your bodies are the TEMPLE OF THE SPIRIT that shelters your eternal, infinite, dimensionless and also indestructible SOUL.

The more we cultivate consciousness about the IMPERMANENCE of the ephemeral and illusory universe in which we live, the closer we will be to REALITY.
