"We are late because we witnessed a kidnapping." The words rang in Stacy's head. The gray cat bit her hand to get her attention "Damn it Johnny!!!" She yelled. The teens giggled, but the cat got scared and ran back up the stairs. "I-I'm sorry..." she stated and the teens nodded. Kris moved closer to Jacob, "We were at a gas station and there was a Taco restaurant there. One of the employee's was taken... kiddn-" Aunt Stacy interrupted her niece. "Were there any other witnesses?" 'Of course she asks us these questions, she used to be a cop herself' Kris thought, 'Yeah.' There was a moment of silence. And then Johnny came back to his previous position, on Stacy's lap. "I'll take that as a no." She waved her hand around then got up, and the cat jumped off again. Landing precisely on all fours next to her. "Alright." she brushed her lap "I'll go make you two some coffee? Tea? Jacob? Kris? What would the two of you like?" Jacob smiled "Hot chocolate for me?" He tilted his head until it leaned against his shoulder. "Please?" Kris looked at him and giggled "I'll have the same, thank you."
Jacob jumped up while his hand was in the air "YES!" he yelled triumphantly. Then sat back down when he saw his girlfriend and her aunt staring at him wide-eyed. "Sorry."
The three then broke into laughter remarking Jacob's moment.
----
Kris awoke in the middle of the night. "There has to be a reason." she said.
Jacob woke up at the sound of Kris' voice
"Huh?"
"There has to be a reason."
"To what?"
"To the kidnapping Jacob!"
"Oh." Jacob sighed, Kris had opened the drawer in the nightstand near her side of the bed. She picked up a notepad and then started searching for a pen. "Why do you need a pen and pad?" Jacob asked. "Reason." Kris ignored his question "Reason." She repeated until she found a pen. "Gotcha." She whispered. Kris wrote something down and sat beside Jacob on the bed. "Look." Jacob peered over to look at the notepad. "What do you mean?"
"If the kidnapper was at that place. And he turned right on the highway..." She paused, thinking for a while "Then?" Jacob continued.
"Then that means he was going towards the gas station near the police station!" Jacob looked at his girlfriend 'That is reasonable since thats the closest gas station to the previous one."
Kris rubbed her temples "Though I might be wrong." She lay down thinking. "I'm defiantly wrong." Jacob looked to his right, he saw the tv remote and decided to turn it on. The screen flashed to a late-night news report.
Someone had gone missing again.
Kris jumped into a sitting position again and stared at the television. The last seen place of this male was at a gas station. Near the police center. "WHAT!?" Kris looked at her notepad and back to the tv again. "I WAS RIGHT?"
"I guess you were." Jacob smiled at her and leaned in for a kiss.
Kris kissed him. "I knew you were right from the beginning." Kris giggled "Yeah right." She playfully punched him.
But then the TV made a large screeching noise. Jacob and Kris covered their ears.
"WHAT THE HELL!!" Aunt Stacy yelled from down stairs "WHAT ARE YOU TWO DOING. IT'S 2:36!!"
Kris looked at Jacob wide-eyed. He was looking at the TV. There was text.
Kris followed his line of sight and read the words.
'Man found wearing all black. If you find this man. Report the Seattle Police Station immediately.'
