Evelyn stirs her body still in constant pain, feels like every nerve ending is being electrocuted at the same time, she tries to move, her body protests in agony, she pushes through it and struggles to her feet, slowly she moves to Lucia, throwing up as a wave of nausea hits her as withdrawal starts to set in, she stumbles as she loses her balance again pain wracking her body, she makes it Lucia, as she turns her over she sees the scars and welts where she was struck multiple times with a whip, she collapses, unable to stand any longer, Lucia now stirring and waking up. Evelyn tries to smile but instead just grimaces and asks “how are you doing?”

Lucia barely manages to say “Peachy…”

Shakily Lucia stands up and helps Evelyn up. Feeling her connection to aether return slightly she melts the chains on her arms, as she does this Evelyn checks the door and says “We need to get out of here, any ideas?”

Lucia says “stand aside” she burns the locks open and they open the door, as they move slowly they come across a few guards, Evelyn sneaks up behind one ganger, rams him into the nearest wall and asks him “Where are our weapons?” as she begins to break his arm by crushing it with her hand, in agony he points to a door, with this she says “Thank you” stepping back and swinging him into the wall snapping his spine and he crumples to the floor.

Moving forward Evelyn stumbles again, out of breath, throwing up, after this she says “I can’t go on like this, leave me and come back.”

Lucia replies with an uncharacteristic anger lacing her voice “We are getting out of here and those two fuckers are going to pay for what they did to us.”

She opens the door and sees her sword Morning Star laying there, she picks it up and helps Evelyn to get Twilights Edge.

As they finish, Lucia freezes again Rodrigo’s voice coming from behind her “Reina, where do you think you are going?”

He charges Evelyn with another syringe, she manages to dodge him and trip him, the syringe shattering on the floor. Getting up he brandishes his own combat dagger, Evelyn then says to Lucia “I’ll try to hold him here, you go. Do you hear me? GO!”

Lucia then snapping out of it looks at Evelyn for what she believes will be the last time and goes, Evelyn now holding her daggers ready looks at Rodrigo and says through gritted teeth “I don’t know what you did to her or me, but I’ll promise you this much, one of us is not walking away from this fight.”

Rodrigo laughs and says “Says the pink haired piggy addict.”

He charges her and launches his first strike, she parries his blade with her own and proceeds to counter attack with the other, he parries that blow and tries to kick her, she dodges, nearly losing her footing but manages to steady herself and counters by sweeping his legs, he falls to the ground and moments later she’s onto him one dagger sinking into his heart while she forces the other through the bottom of his head into his brain.

As she get’s up a flashbang is thrown into the room and detonates, blinded and disoriented she stumbles until she is caught and steadied but she can’t see who, then next moment all she feels are two of the softest lips kissing her own, she relaxes and opens her eyes and sees Angel standing there holding her, she breaks the kiss and says “What kept you?”

Angel replies smiling “Sightseeing.”

Gunner then asks “Where’s Lucia?”

Evelyn says “She’s either looking for revenge or a way out.”

Angel then says “Only one way in or out of this place, we didn’t see her on the way in so revenge then.”

Gunner replies “I’ll find her, get Evelyn out of here, Echo 521 is inbound.”

Angel nods and they get moving aswell, running as fast as they can go.

Gunner runs out the door, he picks up a trail of burnt corpses 

“follow the bodies” he thinks as he continues moving.
