To Dorothy Joy
From Joel Heartkeeper
Dear Dorothy,
It did not help.
I did what you told me in your last letter - send a gift, write a letter - but Janice still didn’t believe it was me!
Instead, she thought it was her stinky sister and was very pissed that she gave her a “joke” that wasted her time.
But it might be partially my own fault. Since Janice was allergic to flower pollen and already had about two million pens, I opted to give her a plastic water bottle instead. It was better than nothing, I guess?
Or maybe it was the letter that I sent her. I poured my heart and soul into that thing and yet it was still ineffective! Was I not sincere enough, or do I need more exclamation points on the end of each sentence?
Well, either way, it flopped. I’m a little scared right now and I don’t know if she’ll believe in me. I hope we’ll persuade her eventually, but in the meantime, I’ll keep thinking alongside you. Thanks for trying to help.
Joel
