I fight back my amusement after Hephaestus said those words.
I don’t remember him saying he likes me and those other same stuff.
I’m looking at him, dumfounded.
Fighting the urge to launch myself and strangle him.
“Oh! A very honest guy!”
My father can’t hide his delight. He’s enjoying his own idea.
“Hephaestus!” I shouted at him.
I saw him flinch.
And my father looks at me and he’s like shooting daggers because he knows I won’t accept it.
“What are you doing, Hephaestus? We talk about it, right? Why are you saying that?”
Holy crap, did I just shout at this poor guy? What the hell is he doing?
“Aphrodite, please hear me. I’m not even done.” He smiles apologetically at me.
What is his plan? I don’t know anymore.
“Lord Zeus, like what I said, I gladly take you daughter as my wife, only, only if she like to.” His voice is warm, and sincere.
I want to hug him because he’s not being a total jerk.
“As you can see, Aphrodite is not like any kind of a woman. You can’t just ask her to settle down. So forcing a marriage to her might not do well. I rather support her whenever she’s ready.”
I will hug him. Heppy is still the adorable guy I know thousands of years ago. He’s the best.
“Sigh. Well then, I guess I won’t compel. I’m sorry for this Aphrodite. Maybe your old man wants to see you settle and happy.” I can see the sadness in his eyes. My father is indeed concern about me.
“I’m sorry father. I’m sorry, I’m not yet ready. Time will come for sure.” I smile sweetly at him.
I hug him and pat his shoulder.
“Thank you father.” I murmured to him.
And yeah, it’s done.
