Rushing to the attic, Lucy immediately searched the entire attic to find another clue. It took her awhile until she finally found what she was looking for. Hidden behind a family portrait she found another box and a letter attached behind the painting. She opens the letter and reads it next to the window.
Congratulations on finding the other box! I knew you would find it right away. Inside this box has some of my belongings. Four people may recognize this box but for now, lets keep it a secret. Just the two of us.
After reading the letter, she opened the box without the key and noticed a small worn-out journal with the initials of L.M. and another picture. But what stood out the most was a small white statue of a baby wrapped in a blanket with inscriptions written on the back. It read, Jacques-Pierre 1940 France.
"Jacques-Pierre 1940 France." Whispered Lucy softly. Lucy realized that the letter did not have some kind of riddle to figure out the next clue, so she looked at the items closely to see if she could find something. Looking that the back of the picture, she found another clue. She read:
It is so close yet so far away to the answer you seek. My identity is right in front of you but you are too blind to see.
Contused to the clue, she sat there for 30 minutes to figure what he meant but had no hope. She got up and left the attic.
"Granddad, do you know someone with the initials of L.M.?"
"What a silly question. Of course I know."
Excited knowing who this mystery person might be, she smiled brightly and asked, "Who, who is it granddad?"
"It's you!" Said Alfred proudly having a smile plastered on his face.
"Ugh, I give up." Lucy sighed while hunching her back. "If you need me i'll be upstairs, doing nothing." Said Lucy in a monotone voice.
Lucy went up the stairs to read the journal. Gazing at the journal, she questioned in her mind, "Who are you?" When she opened it, a letter fell out. When she read it, she pinched the bridge of her nose with her two fingers.
"Now you tell me."
